You internal SD will not be touched when you wipe data or cache using CWM recovery. No matter how many times you ask, the answer will be the same.

Hey guys, realise the stock 'Tag' app that deals with creating NFC tags is not present in custom ROMS (are they even in the stock ROM? I forgot). What apps out there can create NFC tags using the on-board NFC chip? Nexus S does this flawlessly with the stock 'Tag' app.

Samsung warranty covers unlocked bootloader units as well, right? I know HTC doesn't honour the warranty on an unlocked bootloader Nexus One, but Samsung still does?

Must type WR<space>SHOP CODE<space>IMEI<Space>CONSUMER PHONE NUMBER

Buy from DiGi online store got what shop code? I asked D'Chat, they ask me to go to samsung website.. samsung website cannot leh register warranty.. no list for gnex
*
Did you try checking whether the warranty was registered on your behalf already, instead of trying to register? I'd do that before anything, since it says retailer to help register.

EDIT: LOL nvm, can't find the number to send either.

^depends on the ROM. Some ROMs (like AOKP) have that setting built in. Can't say for every other ROM out there.

In my few years flashing rom , practically every week I NEVER bother to check. If you are "kiasi n kiasu" go ahead and do it
*
I will strongly recommend you include checking MD5sum into your flashing routine. Sometimes these servers hosting these files terminate the download prematurely, leaving the file incomplete, but remain named as the actual file.

I kena before (no thanks to Streamyx's Always-DC policy) where the MD5sum do not add up. I was fortunate to catch it before flashing.

Yeah hor... Never thought of that (though I know a successful unzip is proof that things went well). Haha Sifu really sifu. notworthy.gif

It's not that expensive to buy a screen protector to prevent that from happening in the first place. Until a screen is made from diamond, I'd slap an SP on every phone I buy. Heck, I'd not gamble on it even if the screen is made from diamond.

Wait, why are people paying so much for screen protectors? Normal ones sell for RM10 in garage sales.

^I'm sure the sticky feeling is after repeated usage without giving it a wipe. That happens with all surfaces that experience repeated contact with human skin. Also sometimes when your friends operate your device with a dirty hand without your knowledge. My screen always feels like it has a layer of gunk after yumcha sessions. Nothing a good wipe can't remove.

Your computer mouse probably has that layer of gunk too. I know mine has (yuck!).

Been using RM10 SPs since a long time. No yellowing so far. Yellowing occurs on wet-application SPs? Never used one before.

It brings it on par with other speakers. I'd say Volume+ fixes the soft output. Lazy play with equalizer since I'm not really an audiophile. Just need the volume up.

@fuNks

You wiped everything only realise you did not have the ROM in your internal storage?

Please bear in mind MTP does not work without booting into Android. You cannot transfer files to the phone in recovery. Mounting sdcard does nothing (or does it? Any one with a clue?).

Your best bet is do things through fastboot. Not really proficient in that area but fastboot is supposed to get you out of sh*t like this.

^buggy? It's not a bug, that's what will happen when someone steals your phone. Wiping the phone of all data is the security mechanism. You wouldn't want a thief to bypass a security lock that easily, would you?

As in when the phone is locked out, prompt for gmail should be matched against what is already stored in the phone ma, no? Rather than contacting server.

Or to do that would expose the sensitive data? Don't see how wo, you're still locked out unless you know the password. Same as contacting server for verification, just alternative to contact internal of phones instead.

What about ppl without data plan for instance. Or were on flight mode/no data mode prior to phone locking out laugh.gif
*
Authentication with GMail is done through server. That means if you change your GMail password online, you'll need to re-enter it on the phone again. No passwords are stored on the phone (IINM). Permissions are granted, and that's all.

Android (or smartphones as a whole) are data-based in its very core. Setting up a Google account on the device itself involves a data connection.

There will be an endless debate about security vs legitimate regaining of device. All I can say is, educate friends about playing with password protection.

Added on January 30, 2012, 4:17 pmDAMN. Just found out there's currently no way to play FM radio on the Galaxy Nexus. Only way is to stream via internet. Spirit FM doesn't work. Dang...

^you should've just booted into recovery, and perform a data wipe. Your internal storage should be intact under /sdcard/TitaniumBackup. If you flash a factory image, the internal storage is wiped.

If the files were intact, then yes, they can be restored.
