I bought wider tyres but that made my fc suffer. Using michelin xm2, not recommended coz cant make a full turn...d tyres will hit the arch.

Anyone here installed a K&N filter? Can answer the following questions?
1. How much is it and where did you buy from? 2. Is there a notable improve in performance and in saving fuel? 3. Can I fit it in myself and how long would I take, if so? 4. Does it void the car's warranty? Thanks! |

I do the following, does that justify my poor fc?
1. Wider tyres (175/65/14) but it's quieter and my gps is now accurate 2. I do many short trips like less than 5km. 3. If I do long trips, I drive at 120km/h-140km/h. 4. Go through lots of jams. 5. Sometimes, I rev to between 3-4k, then only I change gear. Managed a constant 12-13km/l...normal or too high fc? |

Hi guys, I just sent my car for 35k service and told them about my 1st gear jerk issue. They told me my ignition coil has to be replaced and they quoted me RM700! Can I get it done somewhere else without fearing that my warranty will be voided?

QUOTE(RedSox2004 @ Jun 15 2012, 04:17 PM) Wow that's still very pricy, thought it'd be around RM400+ only hehQUOTE(kennywee92 @ Jun 15 2012, 06:17 PM) If you want your warranty then I think you could only do it at Proton SC. Or maybe you could try your luck. Go over Renautech and ask them to check if it's the ignition coil that causes 1st gear jerk issue. Because as I know, Proton SC know nuts about Savvy. Ok will go there next month, my service cost me RM295 this round, broke already haih |

Woohoo using LuK clutch now, feels so light compared to stock clutch.
Update: After replacing my clutch... There's another problem to my car. When I drive on gear 2 and slow down a lot, the car jerks excessively and my accelerator pedal doesn't function. Even on idle, the car jerks non-stop as if two things are repeatedly banging each other. It's worse when the air con is turned on. I have to turn off and restart the engine then only it works like normal again. Help!!! My car only has mileage of 36k and I already had to replace the clutch! Now this... Oh no! Problems after problems keep coming after 2 years of ownership.
A few days ago, my manual Savvy's speedometer suddenly stopped working when I was driving. Then the mileage count didn't move, the car jerks a lot at low speeds and the aircond becomes less cold as I rev my car more. All happened at the same time. Went to Proton and they told me my speed sensor and shield needs to be replaced. Costs RM400+! I plan to claim warranty for this... But I'm not sure whether is it covered or not? Will try my luck but Proton said after submitting the necessary documents, it may take 2 weeks to see whether my warranty claim is valid, then only they will fix my car FOC. |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Sep 23 2012, 09:01 PM) Oh, I sent to Proton Section 13. Did a few warranty claims with them last time but I didn't have to go through such a process before. Last time my gear lever bengkok and seats got sound, they replaced FOC and no need submit any documents also. Dunno why this time they so strict. |

QUOTE(DaBestOne @ Sep 24 2012, 01:26 PM) It can fit by yourself since it's just a simple job Wow thanks guys, but I just paid RM60+ for no reason coz i said my aircond sometimes cold, sometimes hot, then they refill my gas. Still same issue. Hope replacing the speed sensor thing can solve this problem and my jerkiness problem. Plan to claim warranty for that ... Duno how they are related also but all happened at the same time.Added on September 24, 2012, 1:26 pm It can fit by yourself since it's just a simple job |

Guys, is it normal to have a clutch busted at just 12k km?
Used the LuK clutch kit for less than a year. Refer my thread below: Clutch problem |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ May 7 2013, 11:26 PM) That is abnormal ady. I think Renautech is right, you may NEED to change clutch. Where do you stay? If you dun mind, we can setup a date and travel to meet my magician let him troubleshoot your car. He's not pakar Shawie, but atleast he can tell you what can be done if he weren't able to do it at minimal cost. Ok guess can't be saved already, have to replace the clutch haih No warranty is given for the clutch, so really have to invest in a new set. Perhaps it's because I use Savvy for city drive most of the time and usually always jam, so that's why my clutch runs super fast. Wheeelspin I occasionally do it hehTo me, this sounds like the tension spring on the clutch disc rattle. If not, it would be the clutch bearing sudah jammed. You may try your luck to claim for warranty, as this kind of problem usually only bastards like me who often go wheelspin can happen. Live at ttdi btw. Will probably send to Proton Sec. 13 to get it fixed asap. Don't dare drive it now, seems like very harsh for my car. |
