Just bought myself an SII last week, pretty satisfied with everything except the keyboard. I find the typing kind of sluggish compared to the IPhone, prob not suitable for speed typing.

I then downloaded the ICS keyboard from the market and it made things better. Better auto correct and targeting features. However I still can't shake the feeling that the keyboard is still a lil bit slow in response when you type the same button multiple times.

Anyone feeling the same?

Same feeling about the ICS keyboard. I like the features but don't like the tad sluggishness when typing super fast (sometimes one letter in the word doesn't appear although I see it pop up)

Have since reverted to GB keyboard laugh.gif

Evening Guys,

Just to have verification, below apks are they for google navigation and maps?
1.Street.apk
2. TtsService.apk

Yeah, related. First one is street view specifically for Googlemaps I believe.

Second one is text to speech. For the voice in navigation. Not necessarily navigation alone uses tts

@Destex,

The system location, is it read only? I try to paste in there and also to rename the apk file but it stated that it is read only.  sweat.gif

How come?  tongue.gif

If you use root explorer app, tap the "mount r/w" button on the top right when you're in system folder

yerp, i knew that. but there's some issues with the grouping, like i assign the contact to the specific group with specific ringtone, but it not work. thanks to duplicate contacts.  sweat.gif

Go to contacts -> hit menu button -> hit delete -> tick select all -> hit delete

I've never tried, but I'm guessing you can also go to the manage applications menu, under all, look for contacts app, and clear data. Try this at your own risk

21 mins for 8%, pretty good no? Extrapolating that to go to 90%, can last almost 4 hours screen on gua laugh.gif

Seriously, how do you guys get such good batt life. I'm on 2kmah batt and I get nowhere near that. I do keep latitude on, have tasker running, have some news n all sync at intervals and play tiny tower in 1-3 hour intervals tongue.gif Just wondering if all that takes up that much comparatively

oh, 21 mins for 8%, ok gua thats not bad actually tongue.gif

Think so gua, I'm guessing when he said 27% he meant the usage ratio screen tongue.gif

Edit : Those of you with long batt life screen on wise, do you guys do anything special like force 2g connection, not sync, not use latitude and stuff like that. Any experience what stuff really helps?

Here I do to get long battery usage in account sync I only sync contact and Gmail, other stuff like calendar, Google+, browser I don't sync at all.
Also on location service I untick all, also vibration and sound notification I don't use and untick, widget update u also can switch off, just use manual sync. biggrin.gif
*
Ah okay. Maybe I need to isolate stuff like network location, sync and even tasker and see which helps alot lol
