Mobile Terminal is also the one I use. Not sure if there is any free alternative (or even paid ones)

Excellent. Now plese be reminded that you cannot do the Reset and Erase all content after this. Once you have jailbroken your iPhone, it moves some of the system files somewhere else and will break the Reset and Erase all Settings.

I suggest that you keep a copy of a backup (you should have it in iTunes) with an empty iPhone 4s just in case something goes wrong with your iPhone 4s.

Now let's hope musclenerd can break the 5.0 baseband.

Then don't worry about it. You're in a situation where you really do not want to tamper with something that is currently working.

That's about it at the moment. I was doing some theming via winterboard before on my iPhone 4 but it was taking too much time etc so just sticking to utility tweaks.

The unlock will not require you to re-jailbreak. So I would say that go ahead and restore your backup. I suspect that musclenerd will release something via Cydia for the unlock.

Before doing that, you might want to delete the account and recreate it in Mail, Contacts and Calendars. Maybe some backup settings is not correct.

so is there any news for baseband? i jb last time and i cant unlock my phone due to the baseband, any good news?

Should be ok if you are using the original gevey. Its stable. I was using for about 5 months with no issue.

There ways to unlock that I know is by 1) telco unlock 2) replace the chip 3) gevey sim.
If they have other way to unlock they should be better than the dev team.

How much they charge?

Only thing I can think of is getting it officially telco unlock. Maybe they have "jalan". Replacing the chip... Don't think they have the experts in doing that.

Scam. Your suspicion about them opening the casing and replacing it with iPhone 4 parts may be warranted.

Software unlock still have no news and no ETA,

Hardware unlock (Gevey) no news also ... but there are reports about others ... not sure about the authenticity of it though.

This should make @edmundlah happy.

Somebody reported that there is a hardware unlock that works, check his thread. Lemme see if I can find the thread. WimpyKid should know as well.

No. You will only end up getting your iPhone bricked. Only way is upgrade through iTunes on your pc
