QUOTE(rattan @ Jan 19 2012, 01:35 AM) Overall from your experience stated here I would personally say they are good installers. They could solve a very doubting technical problem. Yeah, I realize even though the unifi installers are younger, but they are so much more professional and helpful. Mine even reorganized the cables and manage to hide everything behind the shelf |

I still have my streamyx wireless router, wondering is it a good idea to set it as a Wireless-G AP, while i set my unifi DIR615 as a wireless-N router. The streamyx wireless router is connected to the DIR 615 via bridge. At least like this, wireless N devices wont be dragged down by wireless G devices...

QUOTE(etsuko @ Feb 8 2012, 10:41 AM) First of, thanks to rattan (LYN forumer) who's been patient with me so I could finalize which package to sign up. In addition, it's great knowing forumers like him are willing to lay down their reputation on the line to help other forumers. The contractor he works with were efficient. The friendly 2-man team (young looking dudes) arrived 30 minutes earlier than the appointment time, listened to where I wanted the Unifi box installed (I wanted to make it not visible from inside the house) and got to work. All was smooth until TM's side had some trouble Ok Unifi Billing Date is on the 21st of every month, so new bill will always start on the 22nd.Something I'd like to know too.. the word prorate was jargon to me. LOL! Another thing is, you pay UPFRONT by 1 month, unlike streamyx where you pay after you use the service for a month. That pretty much explains the "shock" that unifi users receive when they got the 1st bill anyone able to add their unifi service to TMRewards? QUOTE(kimyee73 @ Feb 9 2012, 01:45 PM) Usually how long does it take for TM to terminate your streamyx and phone after unifi activation? I tick on auto-terminate streamyx and phone using online application. It has been 5 days and my streamyx and phone are still working. Thks. 1 week usually.QUOTE(ffrulz @ Feb 9 2012, 03:27 PM) Yes, but dont expect full month FOC because its counted from first day of installation to billing date. after that u need to pay for the full price. |

nVidiaFX : you have to pay the bill upfront unlike streamyx, so its like a prepaid service.
kimyee73 : If not mistaken you have to pay for those VOD movies. |

hi snowfish, how did your in-house unifi installation go? Did you get the Microtik to do trunking to your TV or did you manage to splice your ethernet cable into two? btw, I eventually got the RB750GL and having lots of fun configuring it. But not doing trunking yet. Still using my homeplugs for the STB. I am going to do the ethernet splitting first. Ordered a rj45 crimper, still waiting for it to come.... Can't find any shops in penang that sell mikrotik devices...... |

1 thing about the R56U offers that other wireless router within that price range can do is, concurrent dual radio dual band wireless-N.
Of course you can use multiple AP to solve this problem, which will introduce more clutter. I do agree that R56U is overpriced, but for the features it has, its good for people who are willing to spend for it. Anyway time to retire the R56U, make way for R66U My crimper until now haven't arrive. Dunno sesat go where E2000 linksys router can be used for our unifi or not including IPTV?
