oh im sory about that bro  biggrin.gif
"in that case go to ur streamyx router.. DISABLE DHCP" <-- how to do this?  tongue.gif
*
what is the model of ur router?
go to ur router amind page (usualy 192.168.1.1) then try to find LAN options...
you will see (DHCP Server) somwhere there.. turn it off/disable it and now u can use ur streamyx router to extend ur unifi network..

if u give the model maybe i can give better instruction

ohh man i cant do that cos my stimix router is too far from my unifi router,my stimix cable also cannot reach to unifi router  sad.gif
*
what cable? bro u dun need to connect the phone line to ur streamyx

from streamyx router only two cable:
power cable
lan cable to unifi router

no other cable... so take the streamyx router and put it next to unifi.. the streamyx router will take internet from unifi router and put it on its wireless.. that all

u dun need to connect phone line to ur streamyx... we only use the wireless of streamyx router

I agree with 47ronin. n56u is overpriced for its feature set. Draytek even worse, 700+ is it? Maybe it's gone down. TP-Link 1043ND is a good economical choice.

You parents must be rich for you to whistle at RM450. That's how much my auntie makes in 2 weeks cleaning houses for people. Some people are lucky.
*
fyi, i bought a second draytek (now got 2) for RM480
thats the one got wireless 2130n.... so it replace the dir615 without anything else needed
its not cheap yes... but like me in a house with all crazy 24/7 torrenters its the only router i found that can keep all under control and enjoy super pings in gaming

wah so turned out just that...
anyway if ur wireless range not as good as before or not as stable as before... u can do something about it with the one i suggest rclxms.gif

How did you get that price? I emailed Draytek last week and they quoted me RM460 for the non-wifi Vigor2130. I mean at RM480 for the 2130n then it's a clear choice over the Asus n56u.

I hope they'd reduce the price for their non-wifi model too. I don't need another dual-band wifi router. I'm still using my trusty Airport Extreme from early 2010. Another rich people router. :-) Well, it was the only router with the Apple logo that I can find at that time. Oh and dual band too.
my first 2130 (no wireless) i buy 1 and half year ago was rm490

recently i saw another forumer here she said bought 2130n for 480
so i email ask what going on how like this they told me 480 for 2130n is one batch promo from factory...so i just buy...before got two device router + ap... now just one box for all
ask them got promo

Let me get this...

You offered a solution to use RT-N16 and run G off it to simplify the connections. That means 1 less equipment (WRT54G) from 47ronin's original proposed.

I replied with an alternative solution to just get the RT-N56U that will replace the RT-N16, 8 port Gigabit switch, WRT54G (for wifi G) and WR841ND (for wifi N). That's replacing 4 equipments with 1 equipment. Don't you think the RT-N56U is worth RM 450 in this case?

I think it is you that requires better reading...
*
what about my soluton? ur solution nice but need to buy new hardwares... and is not cheap
if @47ronin want solution and no spending money then my solution... he already got the wrt54g and others.. (except giga switc i think... which i already suggest him no need buy) rclxms.gif

Hi guys. Unifi just been installed on my house. The contractor said I need to leave BTU n router to be on for 2 week since I the first subsriber on my road.
He said to let the laser fully fire to unifi.
It that true?

and one more things, I using FTTH. It is safe if I disconnect the fibre on the box inside my house? the one look like box and got connector like S/PDIF.
can I remove and plug in back? since the wire are messy like hell.
Thanks
*
no prob... why u wan to turn it off anyway? just few watt (maybe rm3 per month)

i leave it on 24/7/365

yes can disconnect all the cables but just don bend it sharp...bcoz fiber is using light... so inside cable is very small mirror... if u bend then u break the mirror ohmy.gif

Good question, I don't think so. Just change something that doesn't require a reboot. Like toggle telnet on/off.

Btw, did anyone notice my IPV6 tag.

No, lah, I use 6to4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6to4 which is:
CODE
6to4 is an Internet transition mechanism for migrating from IPv4 to IPv6, a system that allows IPv6 packets to be transmitted over an IPv4 network (generally the IPv4 Internet) without the need to configure explicit tunnels. Special relay servers are also in place that allow 6to4 networks to communicate with native IPv6 networks.

More info here: http://www.kfu.com/~nsayer/6to4/

There's also Hurricane Electric as an alternative.

Of course, router must support ipv6.

Quite interesting, after I setup ipv6 on my router, automagically all my PCs on the LAN got their own v6 IP. No need separate DHCP server as ipv6 has auto configuration.

I also set my PPPOE to ask for IPV6 from UniFi but "IPV6 request rejected". C'mon TM.

Hardest part was how to get the browser to use IPv6 to connect to LYN. Safari seems to prefer IPv4 over IPv6. In the end, I just block LYN IPv4 address in my router. I know, stupid solution.
*
thanks for the info
I think you can access ipv6 version of lyn using this....
http://ipv6.forum.lowyat.net
I remember read that somewhere not sure if correct (cannot test of coz)

my router support ipv6 what next? that website is explaining general
can u just tell how u did it directly? thanks bro smile.gif

http://ipv6.forum.lowyat.net no more already. Now forum.lowyat.net supports both IPv6 and IPv4.

I only know how to do for my router, RB750GL. What's yours? Anyway this thread probably off topic for IPv6. Suggest we move to one of the other IPv6 threads.
*
for ur router its text config file right? possible to post ipv6 part only after u remov ur private stuffs?
im using vigor 2130 router as in sig... support ipv6

i pm u the details... if not good here name the topic i will come there smile.gif

if only they put useful FAQ in first page .... not all that tm promo/vid stuff that make the pc slow

just put available package+price and then useful FAQ... short info and useful... maybe after this thread full i open the new one official unifi thread... or mod not allow anyone?

bro i meant info for ppls.. for example:
FAQ:
is there penalty if upgrade from tm streamyx to tm unifi?
why is the btu led is red?
my unifi is slow today why?
I moved to another place wan to take my unifi with me?
my connection/router/wireless keep disconnect?
....etc etc

put nice big link to tm unifi page... no need to copy paste same old stuff again again... this is what i meant

so when ppls come to lyn and open unifi thread they find good useful info... the tm stuff put link to it not copy all again in every one from v1 to v14
