Hi all,

I've problem to oc my RipjawsX F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL...seriously oc'ing ram is the most difficult compares to oc'ing cpu or gpu rclxub.gif
I tried to start with 1600 @ 9-9-9-24 and it stable (prime95) even at those DIFFERENT settings:

1st attempt OC CPU by increasing multip only
4.0Ghz @ 1.45V (+0.1)
FSB 200X20
CPU-NB auto
HTL auto
CPU spread spectum auto
1600 @ 9-9-9-24 1.65V
prime95 @ 3hours

2nd attempt OC CPU+DRAM+NB by increasing FSB
4.0Ghz @ 1.45V (+0.1)
FSB 240X17
CPU-NB 2500 (+1 notch volt)
HTL 2000
CPU spread spectum disabled
1333 oc @ 1600 @ 9-9-9-24 1.65V
prime95 @ 1hours

3rd attempt OC CPU+DRAM+NB by increasing FSB
4.0Ghz @ 1.45V (+0.1)
FSB 250X16
CPU-NB 2500 (+1 notch volt)
HTL 2000
CPU spread spectum disabled
1333 oc @ 1667 @ 9-9-9-24 1.65V
prime95 @ 1hours

I can increase ram speed but cannot lower timings and stuck at CL9...at 8-8-8-24 I got bsod even at stock speed cpu 3.4Ghz
my question is how to get lower timings? what parameters should I play with? Need help here:help: thx in advance biggrin.gif

Bro...what do u mean? Is 890FX chipsets dont love timings?...
What is better for amd...lower timings or higher clock?
Should I go for 7-7-7-20 @ 1333 1.6V or 8-8-8-24 @ 1400 1.6V(FSB=210) or default xmp-1600?

btw Im not going to benching...AFAIK no significant different for lower timings in real world rclxub.gif
just for gaming and daily use cool2.gif

I bought this kit (1600) coz deneb cant get higher clock blush.gif
Yeah its very4x affordable and it not worth for me to pay more just to get lower latency lol biggrin.gif ...
nway can this kit do better and how?

i cant get it...tightest timing is 9-8-7-24 @ 1.5V 1667MHz
if i lower the speed to 1333 i can tight it to 7-7-7-20

your timing is quite weird. normally the hardest one to tight is the trcd
but its totally safe to run 1.65 tho.
iinm deneb's imc can tahan higher volt then thuban making 1.75v is still safe to my book.

Yeah I've tried to 1.7V...8-8-8-24 cant make it @ 1600MHz sad.gif

1.75V? xbrani la bro blink.gif ...

lemme list my previous tests with stable:
7-7-7-20-1T 1333 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
8-7-8-30-1T 1400 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
8-7-8-30-1T 1438 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
8-7-8-30-1T 1470 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
8-7-8-30-1T 1500 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
8-8-8-30-1T 1538 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
8-8-8-30-1T 1572 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
9-8-9-30-1T 1600 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
9-8-9-30-1T 1638 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
9-8-9-30-1T 1672 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
9-8-9-30-1T 1704 1.5V @ 3.4GHz
9-8-9-30-1T 1738 1.5V @ 3.4GHz

*[COLOR=red]3.4Ghz is approximately cpu speed(3.35-3.47GHz)

which one is the best timings for my deneb?

mybe you can try run aida64 memory bench to find the faster one. from the list, i choose 8-8-8-30-1T 1572 1.5V @ 3.4GHz

my deneb has less perfomance 1800CL9 compare to 1600CL8 with same setting, only lower the multi ram and timing (CL9-->CL8) only

Ok ill try it after jumaat....

btw how bout 8-8-8-30-1T 1572 1.5V @ 3.4GHz vs 9-8-9-30-1T 1738 1.5V @ 3.4GHz?
currently im plying flight simulator x and quite happy with 9-8-7-24-1T 1667 1.5V @ 4.0GHz FSB250 NB 2758.7MHz
but im curious to get better ram+cpu performance icon_rolleyes.gif

AFAIK high nb/freq can help better overclocking...isn't it?

i never test this ram, cant really give support. hilmi tested, must ask hilmi

what is ur CPU-NB voltage? higher cpu-nb will improve performance i dont think it will make oc easier. it will make it harder i think

btw,
Open aida> right click at taskbar notification icon > go to tools i think > memory benchmark.

compare your timings. which is faster
