I was thinking maybe get a smaller SSD at first, but then might as well get the 512GB now and then something bigger later when prices fall and there's the 1TB available. Secondary hard drive can be slow since it's just for media, etc. |

QUOTE(LanzaDelRelampago @ Aug 10 2012, 03:21 AM) 256GB if I'm not mistaken and yeah, you might require the riser though to use the 7mm. Unless you get the 9mm version. This post has been edited by refnulf: Aug 10 2012, 07:38 AM |

QUOTE(neverendinghells @ Aug 10 2012, 10:41 AM) Not really, cos some of the laptops has screws, just adjust the SSD to the screws holes and lock it will do... not really requires riser and others... plus thinner = more better chances in using it in other stuffs in future~ Not bad the price, but 256gb is a little too small.Tq http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2394269 selling Crucial M4 Sata III SSD 256gb - CT256M4SSD1* / CT256M4SSD2 @ RM659 READY STOCK for 9mm ,7mm* Limited Stocks! 7mm slightly expensive then 9mm for 256gb. Hmm... 256GB @ 659, what's 670 lolz |

QUOTE(neverendinghells @ Aug 10 2012, 10:52 AM) It's Very Subjective tbh this question, Some even 1TB also nt enough. Meant to say 256gb is too small for me. if 256GB, after format, + windows + softwares (CS6, premier , 3dmark and etc etc is more then enough already lu) Inclusive 2-3 games will still run properly. 500GB size may sound the best size possible, but still taking a SSD and run 500GB... even if yr laptop it's still overkill... my Fujitsu 240GB SSD only occupied 20% after almost every mix and match softwares inserted >.< Lots of games to install and I want them all on the SSD. I do have the 1TB as a secondary drive for everything else. |

I'd go with Crucial M4. Great performance, reliable with proven track record. Decent 3 year warranty. Same goes for Samsung 830 also at a higher price, great performance and reliable as ever.
OCZ Vertex 4 is also good, but high priced and has a nice 5 year warranty. OCZ isn't known for its reliability as the other two but that could be disproved since it's a new drive. Just give it some time. I'd only go with those 3 to be honest. This post has been edited by refnulf: Aug 10 2012, 02:57 PM |

If you play the wait game, you'll never finish waiting because prices will forever be dropping. |

My sweet spot would be 512GB. And perhaps a 1TB SSD in the coming year or so as a secondary drive. Drives are mostly filled with applications and games. My games already total bout 133GB so far and there's more to come. |
