Hi to all siffus here,
I want to upgrade my rig to an ssd and also the mobo.
I think I want to buy the 128gb crucial m4.
I have made my research that the mobo must have intel sata3 controller to maximize the ssd.
Does the Asus P8Z77-M have the intel sata3 controller?
I search at the asus website, but cannot find it.

Intel® Z77 chipset :
2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), gray

According to my research all/most of the z77 asus board came with intel controller

Oh thanks.
Just for confirmation,
if it state like this 'Supports Intel® Smart Response Technology, Intel® Rapid Start Technology, Intel® Smart Connect Technology' so it means it use Intel controller?
Want to compare with asrock mobo.

did OCZ vertex4 1.5 firmware solve the problem where write speed slow down after drive is 50% full?

in my area, the 128gb vertex4 is cheaper than samsung 830 now...

How did you upgrade the firmware?
Using ocztoolbox?
Does upgrade the firmware will erase the data?
And what is the best intel rst version to install, I see a lot of people recommend the 10.xx versions.
Sorry for my noob question. tongue.gif

Upgrading a firmware on a SSD does not erase your data unless something went wrong during the flashing and the drive bricks.

I'm using Intel RST 10.5.0.1027 ever since it released more than a year ago, haven't changed using this version even if I moved to older or newer systems.
Works fine and all good for me.

Honestly I'm just lazy to go download the latest version. tongue.gif
