QUOTE(Shufflerz @ Jan 25 2012, 11:15 AM) Another update on my working rig. Shufflerz | Liteon M2S MLC | 128GB | Single AHCI [attachmentid=2653794] - i5-2500S @ Stock - 2 x 4GB value @ Stock - Dell Q65 mobo (Optiplex 790) - No GPU Under performed cause only able to run on SATA II. your score still very high....i am using Corsair Force 3 120GB Sata 3 on Sata 2 port but only managed to get 167MB read and 100MB write. I got a few question want to ask expert here as below: a) Will it because my mobo dont support ACHI so the speed is so slow? b) Any effect by using it for dual OS booting? Using it with 3 partitions : OSX Lion 1| Lion 2| Win7 c) besides, TRIM is enabled inside Win 7. This partition is about 60GB. But inside OSX cant support TRIM. In this situation, TRIM is covered 60GB under Win 7 or is covered whole SSD?

QUOTE(PandoraV @ Jan 26 2012, 10:24 AM) As your force 3 will only run on ide mode not even sata 1 speed.Currently running force GT 90GB & 120GB on sata 2 board with 280MB read and 272MB write, that's the max speed a sata 2 ssd can get.TRIM is enable only when you set it on win 7(even without achi),not the entire ssd. Ps:Ts,pls look for post #77(page 4) to be include in the list. thanks for your info. mind to tell me why my SSD only running on IDE mode? is it because of motherboard limitation? I am using budget mobo below: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=3960#ovBoth hardisk seem like display as ATA device. but i do have SATA controller on my mobo

QUOTE(stasio @ Jan 26 2012, 04:08 PM) yes i did all the tips about SSD and optimization. ACHI inside my WIndows 7 is on but no effect due to my mobo don't have ACHI features. now just wonder why my SSD is running at ATA speed.

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Jan 26 2012, 04:17 PM) update your mobo chipset driver aka INF. G41 mobo supports IDE only but won't be that far behind AHCI. i'd say the mobo as well as the CPU are limiting the speed. SSD in IDE vs AHCIyup. updated to latest INF still the same..... at first i thought since it got SATA 2 port sure will have SATA's speed. din't know G41 only support IDE speed on SATA's port. kinda weird but still that the best new LGA775 mobo i can buy from the shop since no more mid-high range LGA775 mobo in production anymore. still kinda waste under utilized so much more. QUOTE(owikh84 @ Jan 31 2012, 10:33 AM) Not the fastest drive around, but at great value. WEI score of 6.9. A little lower than other SSDs. no need fastest since my mobo cant go so fast. ......as long as can get back 170mb/100mb speed of my Force 3 already happy is it reliable? any other SSD recommended around that price range?
