QUOTE(Dackson @ Jan 16 2012, 06:51 PM) Yalo~ put SAS into sound weird . I can not take the risk of failure on RAID 0 in the output. Intel SSD 320 300GB damn expensive and the read just 250mb/s ++ =__= Intel 320 SSD 160GB cost RM900++ 120GB corsair Read 550mb/s cost RM589. I prefer other brand SSD for cheaper and better speed. Why intel SSD so expensive ? 300GB SSD will make me over budget. If i need to put in 2nd SSD for virtual and 2 storage RAID1. Claviar black dnt hv 2.5' one >_< WHy a server make suffer. In order to save time, i just make the server offline Intel is actually not that expensive Corsair are decent too but remember anything over 2xxmb/s need SATA 6 to use that speed But sequential is not everything, random access etc is where SSD make a big difference

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Feb 19 2012, 03:54 AM) i think ur budget is too low already. i find the best balance between price and performance is those around 120/128GB SSD. After all the normal software my PC already took about 30GB. Imagine if you install games etc.. You wont have enough space. Plus I notice from review, SSD tend to perform faster the larger the SSD size. Its important also you find out which SATA ur mobo support. Not much point to get SATA3 if you only support SATA2. In SSD case not much point finding a future proof device because in the future SSD might drop price some more. You might as well just change new one by then... My Intel 320 Series 80GB serve me well so far Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit + Daily Use software only take up 2xGB or so Still got plenty of space to install game

QUOTE(DalphinuS @ Feb 21 2012, 12:28 AM) I'm new in studying the SSD in my VAIO FW (age 2 yrs), how fast will my laptop improved & where is the significant differ if I replace my HDD to SSD? As I heard it will boot my laptop within 15s for consistently, is that true? And my laptop will have less heat too? Other than that, anything else? Anyone heard of Force brand SSD? I got a quote of RM449 for 60GB. Yes,changing from HDD to SSD,you will feel your system significantly faster Boot Up Time(In my case, timed) reduced to 33's from 60's(Stopwatch start the moment press power button) You will feel SSD launch program much much faster than HDD In the case of laptop,it even help battery life

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Apr 7 2012, 03:24 AM) Just curious, what do you guys normally install on a SSD drive upto 240GB? I find it very difficult to even fill up 100GB, lol. I also can't afford a 240GB so I never bother about it's pricing Me too I only run a single 320 Series 80GB and i still have like 40GB left after install OS,Game,Application

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Apr 9 2012, 02:05 AM) That's true Every buyer wants everything cheap and sellers are killing each other by calling names, throwing price and wants to be cheapest. Seriously, I don't even care if I make money these days because the margin is up to the point that we're like doing charity. Agreed Computer Hardware Retailing is like taking big amount of money and have low revenue Worse is open shop in Low Yat,so high overhead to cover for those shop

QUOTE(iZuDeeN @ Apr 12 2012, 03:25 PM) The drive is on ACHI mode ( 1x Intel 120GB 520 SSD & 1x WD 1TB 7.2k HDD ) If upon pressing the boot up button to Windows takes about 1 min (if after BIOS load about 50sec) The SSD is on clean installed of Win7 64bit Ultimate (paired on i5 2.6GHz - 4 core) and 2x4GB Kingston Value (paired) Win7 updated & installed with necessary driver (and disabled all non-essential startup) TRIM is enabled & pre-fetch disabled I know the SSD is working fine (based on Intel Toolbox) and benchmark (220+ read, 170+ write) Hmmpp.. was expecting more from the bootup But I do notice significant loading time in BF3 (loading almost reduce by half) Try install latest Intel RST driver
