anyone can let me know the comparison between SSD with 15k RPM 6GB/s SAS, 7.2k RPM near line SED SAS, seagate momentus XT ?

I was thinking to use 300GB SSD, 3 seagate momentus XT. It's seaget momentus hybrid drive work slower than thos 15k RPM 6GB/s SAS
*
i think you should go look for reviews for SSD and reviews for HDD as well as reviews for seagate momentus XT. their difference are obvious.

i advice you do some product research before asking difference between SSD and HDD and Momentus XT (HYBRID)
No offense to you, but i recommended this because it will be more easier for you to look at the graph that reviews provided rather than Wall of text people written here, or having people posting separated graph.

anyone can teach me how to configure RAID ?
If got two same SSD, 1 7.2k RPM 64mb buffer, and 10k RPM
Can i RAID them all to Raid 1 and RAID 5 ?
Or can i RAID 10 to two SSD, and dnt RAID the remaining drive since remaining is SAS and non SAS?
*
From what i know, people usually recommend same type of HDD for RAID.

You can't raid SSD with HDD.

btw, Raid can be configured with your Motherboard Bios, as long as your mobo supports RAID Configuration. Btw do you understand RAID?(judging from what you said RAID 1 and RAID 5 and RAID 10, i believe you don't understand them)

Currently, i don't recommend you doing RAID with SSD since they still not yet have Trim support.(sorry, i`m quite slowpoke in this, i only know Trim support for RAID will be available in future, if it's already available, please point out, thanks)

I had read those link yesterday.
I was thinking whether should i use the advantage of RAID or not.
First, i can not afford any failure data. 2nd, It's use for critical performance.
RAID 0 totally out of my mind. I need to set a duplicate back up. It's RAID 1 is the good option ?
Can i just raid 3 of the Hard disc leaving SSD un-RAID ?? I saw a benchmark that RAID 5 of the samsung SAS greatly improve the performance.
By the way, any good idea to customize hard drive with SSD.
Install main OS on SSD. Application on 2nd hard disc. read data from storage 1. Keep data in to storage 2 and storage 3 which may be used again by application.
I hv no idea which hard drive to use for the rest of it. using 5 SSD or 1 SSD 4 SAS which is over budget.
*
Read intensive application such as 3D editing, Photoshop and OS should be in SSD.
While Media and additional important files can be store in HDD.
Single SSD performance is good enough for users without the need to RAID.

May i ask what's your intention for RAID?

Only same size of HDD can be RAID.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/HETERO...-WORK,1789.html
You can't raid a 500gb with 1tb.

Plus, if you're saving cost and RAID a 7.2k rpm HDD and 10k rpm HDD(if they are in same size)
The performance will be bottleneck by the 7.2 rpm HDD because 7.2k rpm HDD has inferior performance compare to 10k rpm

RAID HDD does not means, HDD 1 Performance + HDD 2 Performance = Total Performance.

RAID 5 Requires atleast 3 SSD or 3 SAS HDD.

SSD is not recommended for Write intensive since it will degrade it's performance.

If you're going for Write intensive work load, go for SAS HDD

That sound great.
I can option 1 SSD as main, 2nd SSD for virtual, 3rd small SSD for temporally raw data reading by application, 1x 300GB SAS application, 2x WD clavior black 500GB storage (can i RAID this two drive only ?).
2 SSD 120GB =1.2k
1 64GB SSD= 378
SAS = no idea how much it's
clavior black = unknown the price
*
Why you need SAS HDD? i'm quite confused by this. =X
Since on Performance comparison, SAS HDD that is 15k RPM, you will still need to RAID 0 them to try to outperform a single SSD.
Why not just get a big size SSD for Main OS and Applications?

My suggestion for you would be.

Intel 320 Series 300gb SSD as Main OS and Application.
2nd or 3rd SSD for Virtual/Scratch Disk.

2x Caviar Black 500gb for RAID 1

6x8GB better or 12x4GB ?

Honestly speaking, 3 channel really work faster than 2 channel ??
*
thanks to wKkaY for helping, i'm starting to lose my patients.

Between 6x8GB better or 12x4GB ?

Both of them are gonna be 3 channels. why you're asking 2 channel.

Differences aren't big, go google. thanks.

i suggest you go create a thread on here.
https://forum.lowyat.net/TechnicalSupport
or here.
https://forum.lowyat.net/HardwareQuestions&Answers

Since what you're asking is slowly derailing this thread.

Will I have bottlenecks with use Intel 330 SSD on SATA II?
*
Sata II have limitation of transfering 300mb per second(3GigaBits) not sure i'm correct or wrong thou.

you have check 330 SSD benchmark to know if it's bottleneck. If i remember, i think it's it's 230mb read and 170mb write.
