did you follow the instruction here? http://www.corsair.com/force-series-3-60gb...hard-drive.html

Using the MSahci driver is just a precautions, to remove the AMD AHCI controller driver, you must go to the Storange Controller there to uninstall and delete the driver. Reboot and try again
I tried to google the firmware updater error code, looks like quite a lot ppl had this problem too.
For example, http://mushkingames.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.p...=18507&start=30
The Mushkin one suggest clear CMOS ect. you may follow that thread instead.
Never tried Cosair SSD before so cant help much sweat.gif

Dont buy those expensive one loh, Mid range one is enough, dont buy something you cant even fully utilize it.
64GB is already enough for casual user, 120GB if u "need for speed" like me lol(i dont have patience to wait for my hdd to open hundreds mb of raw image) sweat.gif

My first SSD is kingston 96GB one, i didnt even fully utilize it, only used 50% of space, then sold it off after 1 year. doh.gif

yup.. as simple as that.
owh. if ur old hdd storage setting in bios is IDE its kinda abit long story lor..
make sure to set ur ssd in AHCI mode..
*
You will need to clone the data first, from old HDD to new SSD, kingston and curcial SSD upgrade kit bundled cloning software iirc. im using the Kingston one, very easy to use yet powerful.
Unless you wanna start new OS from scratch.

And no, iirc you cannot switch directly from IDE/SATA/RAID to AHCI mode in BIOS, you wont be able to boot after that, windows will gives you a lovely bluescreen.
its tricky though, i've tried that(upgrading SSD firmware).
Unless your mobo has 2 different SATA controller, eg intel native sata port and 3rd party like Marvell, Jmicron ect.

I can write down the step by step though.

If you want free and guarantee to work with perfect alignment, use Windows 7 built in Backup and Restore utility and make a system image in another external USB hardisk if you have one. Boot from Windows 7 DVD installer or from your Windows 7 USB stick installer and when the main install screen comes out, choose Repair your computer, follow the screen instruction and then choose System Image Recovery (3rd option from the system recovery option menu).

Caveat is the size of the partition you are going to backup must not be more than the size of your SSD. Example, if you backup and create an image file from a 150 GB partition which is only 80 GB used (i.e. 70 GB is free), you will not be able to restore the image file to a 120 GB SSD.

I don't know if Acronis can resize / shrink the partition automatically.

Acronis can resize /shrink, iirc, can modify the partition ect, very powerful rclxms.gif
used it once when cloning data from SSD to new SSD.
Can copy even if the destination SSD size is smaller.

1g speed ....5 sec boot time? drool.gif

i think its only look good when its still new, iirc RAID0'ed SSD will lose trim support, the performance will degrade over time and will perform worst than single SSD hmm.gif
