I just want to know what custom ROM for PRO?
- currently only got cyanogenmod CM7 for Pro, but not stable.

How to flash ROM and custom Kernel?
- flashing rom is through either recovery mode or Flashtool. installing custom kernel is only through fastboot mode.

Is install zip file from SDCARD consider flashing too besides using fastboot command prompt?
or other software?
- because the zip file contains the image of the ROM, and that is called flashing. using command prompt is just script-based method. other software is like 3rd party software called "Flashtool".

Do I actually need a custom kernel?
- custom kernel often comes with recovery apps, such as ClockWorkMod. for me it is essential as it contains Nandroid (a recovery program which 100% backup EVERYTHING from ur unit and Recover back 100% exactly how it is in future), and is part of a must if u are a custom ROM modder/ app tester.

If things start getting worse, what do I have to do? like steps by steps.
- what do u mean by 'things start getting worse"?

is everything in the file you provide on root guide will be useful in the future?
- those a Must-have files for rooting and flashing. if u wanna root, or flash, u need them.

Jailbreaking easy to understand but I want challenge. 
- Rooting is equivalent to Jailbreak. Rooting means going deep into the system, just like a tree's root going into the earth deeper and deeper.

Or can consider root as getting actual access rights, just like your PC Windows; You gain full access control.
The term jailbreak because iOS is far too strict, imagine if you buy a laptop and the Windows account given to you only "Guest" account with limited access rights and many restrictions.  Hence why many people didn't like iOS or what it did.
When you got more control of the user's action, you get less problems and more stable system.
When you give more control and power to the user, it's harder to control and maintain, thus hard to ensure the system is stable.
With great power comes great responsibility. It good to have control on the user, but it doesn't mean the user should forever stay in that level and never improve or learn. So, there should be option for the user to unlock advance more or administrator mode. You buy the device, but only given limited access rights, that didn't sound right (well, at least for me).

Let's put in OS perspective since it's OS. By default, when you buy an OS, you should have root access granted, even if DEFAULT it's not enabled. So, not really I would consider modification, more like unlock or gain full access.
In terms of OS, with root access, you get full access and priviledge; Without root access, maybe you're just a power user, etc. in short, limited access right and priviledge.

Apparently opera mobile is causing my stock pro to repeatedly restarting. Uninstalling seems working for me. Anyone else facing the same issue?

my xperia neo just brick...
i've unlock bootloader, rooted, installed cwm and from stock rom i want to install SE tweak rom with stock kernel...
but after installing .zip from sd card i reboot n now the phone is bricked...
please help me...
i tried reflashing but it seem i cant get my phone into fast boot mode...
it is stuck on the sony ericsson tulisan...

dammit....my PRO sseems to be having problem...sometimes it can last 1-2 days sometimes it cant even last 1 day...and nothing is draining my battery at all! =(

Can't really decide between se Xperia neo or ray...both sounds pretty good...neo with bigger screen and dedicated camera button while ray with auto focus, geo tagging, wifi hotspot...argh! Neo cost about rm700 original now isn't it?

I somehow feel PRO has better loudspeaker compared to Neo V, in term of loudness and clarity...
BTW why SE now all using soooo small LED flash compared to my previous W995 which shine like halogen bulb...

My phone keep on getting to a recovery mode even when I don't pressed volume down. how to counter this?

The middle one. I think 53 or 52. Well it all started like this. I try to install custom Rom which I think CM7 if not mistaken. After reading it it says that it need custom kernel in order to install the Rom. There's an image file include in that folder and since I don't know how to use command prompt, I flash it using flashtool. (I don't know if I suppose to click on 'flash kernel using HootBoot' or just 'flash kernel'. Then, it all started. 1st, when I try to reboot, my phone always go to recovery mode. Try to revert back, flash image the one in your folder then it start to stuck at SE logo. Last sekali I just root back everything. It works now! Good thing I already back up everything.

I don't know mann, but I don't think I recover back the backup data because I already tried that when I stuck at SE logo, nothing happen. I read somewhere that certain things like FM radio and HDMI only not working. I don't use that much that's why wanna try.

One thing I want to ask. What will happen if I want to format my sd card? Does it effect the phone besides the apps inside? I know I will messed up the apps if I do the SDcard format.
