flashing and rooting was like 1 year ago for me...so i came back to ask a noob question.

with CWM recovery due to the previous rooting on my .58 firmware, is it possible for me to just dl the RAR file for ICS PRO and extract it just like any custom roms from CWM?

where u got the rar file for the xperia pro?
i think .rar file is for the custom rom only,or a original stock rom with rooted version. for official ics,i think need a flashtool or a stock kernel

it .rar but inside was a .ftf file i think,u try download,if inside was a .ftf file,u need flash using flashtool

dem..then tat will be a long job for me liaw..flashtool still on queue for dl, update service centre not applicable coz unlocked bootloader, then have to dl the ftf again..my tenet cannot go tat fast pun..2xxmb ler..adeh..

but seriously speaking, i dun need to relock it if i use flashtool, right? ur suggestion to relock is to enable back FOTA, right?

got two choice then,its up to you. relock,and FOTA. or download flashtool and the .ftf i think it will be remain unlocked. i before this playing this stuff on htc,so i think not the same as the sony
as the htc is s-off,and in term of sony is unlocked bootloader

i was thinking it will be the same as not every relock and FOTA, that is why flashtool is available in xda..will try on flashtool method. never used flashtool b4, but hopefully it doesnt give me the headache. but to be true, relock and FOTA can provide a better fw for the unit, right? say im using a THORUS set now, so by right it should be a nice, suitable ICS for a malaysian unit?

i got apps running with t&c requiring unlock BL..so if i relock, my unit will not hang by right, yes? or should i take away that app first??

yeap,i think of it will be better because .ftf file that u show to me,maybe not the global released,maybe it come with specific country release and maybe be modified.
i say,FOTA is better because it suite to every si number. i dont know what SI number do. hehe

something like mandarin input and support feature might not be available for foreign ICS fw, so by relocking and FOTA, Sony can provide me a better and suitable fw for ICS, i guess?

i used the SE way to unlock, the codes..so what i read now, there is no way to relock it back properly..the TS of that topic even said we need to re-unlock it back again..i dun get what he is talking about either..if relocking and unlocking can be so easy, then after relocking, should i unlock it back?

yup,might be not included, if FOTA upgrade,it will included because it released according to country.

yes,it will not relock properly as for unlocking a botloader,u will lost the DRM,then when u gonna relock,u dont get back the DRM. that it say not properly relock,it just to accept the update from the FOTA

i dont know about it,weather can unlock back or not

as long we can FOTA, who cares about DRM, right? then after that we can unlock it back again, but not with the SE method, right?

YEah,for who already accept to lost DRM,who cares,thats why it say not properly relock. hee..
just test ur luck then after update to ics,and inform us. I dont get any info about this,because ics is the new android for xperia pro,just try with sony method 1st,then if cant,then use other method i think. and i dont know about info of relock,maybe it relock just for fota update,but then its still unlock boot loader. hahaha. many things in mind. Better u try it,and inform us later
