No I mean the lumia 800, cuz it sucks at low light but lumia 900 with the same cam does so well.
*
Haha, true such small camera sensor in the phone, we couldn't ask for more but to rely on the noise management system in the firmware. sweat.gif

Added on July 8, 2012, 4:11 pmBtw just to add, there's a new Lumia phone on the horizon, no solid proof yet, its called Lumia 910

So when the 800 gets the same firmware as 900, the camera will become the same?
*
Sadly no, the latest firmware for 900 doesn't address the camera problem, at least I see no improvement on the changelog.

Where we can get the update??
*
yo! I see some of us are eagerly to get the update. No major update that increase the overall performance but instead:
Lumia 900 version 2175.2101.8779.12201: Enhanced sensitivity for proximity sensor performance and improvement to your phone’s screen colours in low light conditions.

And according to local Nokia site, still no news about the update but I see Camera Extras are available for Lumia 800 & 710. However you may try the NoDo update trick mentioned in other lumia thread by apecx92 if you're very desperate to get the update. Also camera extras will be made available during the mid or end July. smile.gif

What a bad day it is for me today!

A supposedly customer Came asked a few questions then pretending to buy a few things said he needed money, I very polite “please sir you have a cash machine in the mall if you wish"  doh.gif
The guy never came back and I find My L900 missing vmad.gif

It was a black Lumia with a full Nokia (Ori)Cassing!

Hear what Kyoyagami just said, try the Find My Phone feature from the Marketplace, you can access the page under My Phone, you can either, ring, lock or even erase the entire data on the phone but at the bottom you can locate your phone through bing map provided there's still connectivity.

Oh, sorry for your lost. sad.gif

eventhough setting my phone to focus on manual, the camera fails to locate the subject at close range but have to get some distance in order to get the right focus. D:

by the way folks, how to you protect the clear steel/metal behind? That shiny stuff is not scratch proof doh.gif

No, please don't ask me to put on the casing, unless it's a flip case. sweat.gif

Hell frickin yeah. Apparently, Nokia Play To solved one of the biggest pet peeve I have with regard to Windows Phone 7.

No, not DLNA (Who uses it? laugh.gif)

It helps the Wifi to be constantly switched on, not closing even after you lock the screen. Truly a godsend for me, as my Wifi is the only means to get Whatsapp running in my room (No line at all in my room. Sux hard)

For those who have the delayed Whatsapp notification problem, I suggest you try this.
*
Wonderful, I will update the WhatsApp thread with your post. biggrin.gif

Aspire, I always noticed your photos have notable noises especially around the corners, shoot on ISO800 ker?

Btw folks, any of you using screen protector for L900? I'm looking for one, can't really stand the finger prints. (No, I'm not worried about scratches. )

No you only notice when I put the photos at 800x600 or bigger. Android are worse just nobody put the photo that big.
iso performance sux on most mobile phones. The phone that have the best performance in ISO in mobile phone is the 808 pureview?

*
We'll see when you get your hands on the PureView 808, this may be the dark knight of the camera phones out there.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jul 25 2012, 09:23 AM)
If you notice every single review u see on the internet of the L900 said the camera sux. Actually the camera don't just its not designed for dummies like iPhone.
*
True though, based on some reviews, you'll need to adjust the settings to get the picture right but this attempt was a bit of backfire for WP7's dedicated shutter button.

Experienced camera users can nail it most of the time. laugh.gif

Side news, I'm not sure all of you are Nokia forum lurkers but I happen to stumble upon this news:
QUOTE

Hi all,

When you have read the thread on the update release, you have visited the update webpages but when you check in Zune it says you have the latest update installed please read the following.

The status indication on the Nokia website tells you whether the update is approved and made available for distribution through the Microsoft update path. When the update actually becomes available for your Lumia 710 or 800 you will receive a notification on the phone after which you can install the update using Zune.

Also please be aware the Zune update checker uses a cache which will allow you to actually check the status in Zune once in 24 hours. If you check again within this time you will receive the same result as before even if the update becomes available in the meantime. So to make sure you get the update as soon as it becomes available it is best to wait for the notification on the phone.

Propagation through the update servers for Zune may take a some time and is something Nokia has no control over so please have a little more patience when you see the status as 'Update Available' on the Nokia webpage and wait for the notification on your Lumia Windows Phone.

When the update becomes available for your phone it will come in three parts. Two updates for the WIndows Phone OS and the update for the Nokia Firmware. These will be applied sequentially but there can be some time between them being offered through Zune. Please make sure you do check for additional software when you have installed the first and/or second one.

'OK, but what about the promised update apps like Camera Extras?'  you may ask.

Please go to the update apps webpage and read the notes which state;

*Camera Extras will be available from Marketplace during June and July 2012. To optimise performance of the Camera Extras application with the Nokia Lumia 610 certain features may be limited. Nokia City Lens will be available for Nokia Lumia 900, 800, and 710 during 2012.

Hope this helps,
Kosh

Source

TL;DR Version:
Nokia has no control over the Zune update so you might need to wait additional 24 hours whenever you check.

You might wanna tether with the time/date settings to see if the updates is available for you. laugh.gif
Also, one of the L900 user reported of getting "downgrade" from the update, so beware yo. whistling.gif

Hi there, I'm using Hotlink with 3G prepaid but now on Maxis postpaid, same phone as well, settings has been done automatically or you can head to the Settings ~> Network Setup to setup your phone, hope it helps.

worth to sell note and get 900?
*
depending on how the phone fits your daily usage, if you really like customization on Android and the availability of the apps on GoPlay, stick to what you have.

If you like minimal aesthetic design and the person who likes to get social updates and connection, get a Windows Phone.

btw folks, new update!

Paid for the service, which is quite costly for applying screen protector (forgot how much but it was consider expensive for applying screen protector), the result wasn't really satisfying (didn't align properly), small screen protector too.

Hi. I have some question to ask. I using Lumia 900 , previously I was using Maxis Simcard on it and just changed to another Digi Simcard. At the begin, the phone call out , but now cannot call out and just can receive call only.

May I know what happens to My Phone and how to reset the settings. I went Digi Service Centre and the girls say is My Phone problem , she kept saying is My Phone settings problem, is Lumia 900 common problem , once you change to another cellular network then you need to reset the settings .

Any Idea on how to backup SMS to Computer ?
*
There's an app for Nokia Lumia phones, is called Network Setup.

SMS backup? No.

Check Lumia 800 thread, you're not alone. smile.gif

Seems like hearing music through Zune/Nokia music is bit buggy and may crashed the phone.

Hold the power button for 10 seconds or more to forcefully shut it down, let it sit for couple of seconds then turn it on again. smile.gif
