iporperty has been abused by agents... e.g. 1 property with 2-3 ads different prices... and fake ads.
*
fake ads .. yeap.. unrealistic prices.. used by agents just to fish for callers only.. if you see any reasonably priced ones, is not available

Welcome to the cyber world, most of the things are not real, only a smaller fraction of the information is real. Pumping false information is a normal thing in cyber age, see that a lot in LYF forum too.

Fake info = "bait and switch", oldest sales tactic in the book. I agree that a lot more can (should!) be done here. For example, if customer complains then the agent gets barred from posting ads, etc.

Question: when you have a property in mind (say, an apartment in Mont Kiara), do you go straight to the site (iproperty or others) to search, or you search (i.e. "Mont Kiara apartment for sale" at Google first?

I search google first, if propwall and iprop both come out, they usually do, I pick propwall first. LOL.

no, it is a firm. means a company that specialize in recording all the transactions for a property. so, if you check with them, you will be also provided with their estimated amount that the property you should buy. In most cases, in fact all cases, the property is not even worth the price you are being quoted. However, due to the ignorance of most people, they buy also because they dont do investigations.

Propwall>homeguru>iproperty

Agreed that propwall is simplistic but they do have reviews sometimes surpisingly honest reviews they pointed out the disadvamtages etc...

Most of these websites have bad user interface, if they willing to pay me, i could charge them a reasonable consulattion fee...the problem is most of them are designed by technical person

Totally agree. I guess it'll be a good feature to have a "fair price" benchmark on all the properties advertised.

OK, so I've just gone to iProperty to check out some  properties. If you're a user of iProperty, what do you think of the site in general? What do you like about it? what can be improved?

Reason I ask is that I used to use portals in US and Aus (zillow, REA) and they seem so... different.

What do you think?
*
Unrealistic price in the website

actually dont mean to be rude, but i felt iproperty is a website used by many agents to attract customer by posting false price for a property. when customers telephone, they will say already sold, and divert you to another property. it's like once they tell you the property is sold, they will ask you again, what's ur budget and which location your looking for whether landed or high rise.

some even worst, blur blur why u telephone, and when u telephone they will ask u which one sumoreĀ  rclxub.gif

so i seldom use iproperty...

Nowadays many like this...

Less people are reading newspaper now, hence is not cost effective to advertise in print media. The Star is currently conducting VSS. The print media is badly affected by the internet.

I think iProperty is still the 'popular' property website in Malaysia due to the huge numbers of properties listed. Whether all are quality listings ..... caveat emptor.

I personally feel propertyguru is even worst. Propwall is ok, but listings are limited. Mudah is also ok but is not a full fledge property website.

The last time I heard is that iproperty subscribed to akamai services in order to make the site load quicker.

When you guys think of a property to buy, do you go directly to iproperty (or homeguru, etc), or like brother love above, you search at Google?

Say, when I search for a job, I go directly to JobStreet. But when I want to find out about property to rent or buy, I Google first. I think I'm weird like that. Ha..

I think the agents upload the pics themselves, so can't help it? Same goes with copying and pasting the pics - done by the agents themselves, too. That's why many of them (agents) plaster their names and phone numbers on the pictures that they upload.

That is Watermark. I like your plastering biggrin.gif
