Does NFC function depend on the any hardware in the phone, such as "NFC chip"
because I learnt that there is NFC function feature in the Ice Cream Sandwich..
If it is limited to the hardware and personally think that we cant have the NFC.

*NFC (Near Field Communication) works like a bluetooth. But nearer and faster.
Personally think that it will be widely used in the future as "e-wallet".
It also can be used as "Touch-n-go", key to access your car/home, etc..
But at the same time, it means.. when you lost your phone.. you may lose all the things that connected with it..
*
yes... NFC requires a chip.

Remove the location based settings, uncheck the wireless network location detection and disable the GPS antenna under setting -> location and security.

Its not good to give away your location, you never know who's watching.
In the US, because of facebook, foursquare etc, ppl's houses get burglared.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Added on January 27, 2012, 9:26 amNFC is same as touch and go, same type of application.

Anything you can "touch" to send information can be applied to NFC.

My partial wakelocks are usually negligible and overnight even with 3G always on , my phone goes into deep sleep 90 % of the time. WiFi and GPS is off. I am on Substancer version of LA4 and Abyss kernel 3.4. So usually over 8 hours, battery drain around 5 % only. In the background I still recieving Facebook updates and hourly Tweeter, RSS, Newfeed ( every 2 hours). I never see the need to even log out from Facebook

That is the problem of updating through KIES. If you are lucky, updated within 2 hours. Some users has been trying many times also same situation as you. Easiest and fastest way is to download the firmware from XDA at :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 or look for it at www.sammobile.com and than use Odin in PC to flash it if your phone is not rooted. If rooted, you can use Mobile Odin to flash it

Okay, i just switched to AbyssNote 3.4, hopefully it's a faulty issue from 3.2 that causes "GPS" from Kernel Wakelock to prevent my Note from sleep.

@writeprotect, Whatsapp doesn't let you update ur location with ur contact as far as im concerned. Where did you get that? And even there is, where are the settings to disable that?

Rooting is optional.
Rooting an Android phone opens its core functions that aren’t available when you buy it. Rooting also enables you to install apps that required access to system files, example - backup , adfree to remove unwanted ads, titanium backup to backup and restore fully roms, setcpu to setup profiles to underclock CPu and set voltage controls to improve battery performance, . Commonly use of rooting is to allow installation of alternative roms which is faster and better, more features, and reduced bloatware.
Rooting will not remove your 3rd party apps, data/wipe clean your phone. And the chance of bricking the phone during rooting is close to impossible. Just make sure your phone has at least 50% battery charge. Do refer to the specific methods on how to unroot back if needed

Its ok bro, btw root dnt have version. Root mean to get admin power. Its like computer account such as administrator. So u can change a setting in control panel. Correct me if im wrong
I think for the beginning stock is enough for you. Try to use it and get familoar first. So that then after that when u root u can fell what is the diffrent between it.
