Hi TS,
DO NOT take Chemical Engineering if u do not like physics or you are not good at it. its 90% physics and 10% of chemistry. Trust me, i am like you interested in chemistry but took Chemical Engineering. I did not regret but its kinda difficult for me to study. If you want to do well in a subject, u must passion for it. i have developed my passion for Chemical Engineering only in the 3rd year. And yea, its a bit too late but at least i have some passion on it. If you feel u can do well in the chemistry DO IT. Trust me, if u can get a 1st class, u can continue ur studies for Masters and PHD with scholarships. and yea ur future is secure. Don't worry, u can still teach if you want after taking ur chemistry, but of course, those with the educaiton degree will have the advantage. GO FOR YOUR PASSION. That's all i can say. its just my opinion thou. Good luck!

QUOTE(andrewtyy @ Jan 9 2012, 10:35 PM) This means that in Chemical Engineering study mostly about Physics and less on Chemistry? My teacher also said if study pure Chemistry then only turn to education will come out later as others who just took education. Yep! i only studied Chemistry for 2 sems, mostly all physics. We deal with fluid mechanics, particle technology, plant designing, mass balance, and etc. as you see, the topics here doesn't really involves chemistry. more to physics and calculation. hahaha.. yea as i have said, those who took education will have the advantage over you if u take pure chemistry. But, what is your interest? if u are not into teaching, why not take chemistry? If u take chemistry, u can learn the subject u like, then if u want to teach, i will advice you to take masters and phd later. Become a lecturer is better than teacher in terms of salary. U can engage in research, rather than teaching what's in the book. hahhaa... well its only my opinion thou.. and there are company who will hired those with chemistry background.=)
