Would appreciate if you could PM on how to watch as well. Am headed to Perth next month and plan to get one, even if JB isn't available yet.

why get it in Perth when you can get it cheaper locally?

How much does a reseller sells it for here? Is there still warranty if bought from non-Apple reseller?

can any1 explain the diff having an apple tv at home vs downloading movies/series and just use laptop/pc/media devices as media centre?
does it suit the purpose of having 1 or just the same?

The difference is, Apple TV allows you to purchase/rent movies at a fee VS what you're doing with is illegal tongue.gif

apple tv & media centre is totally different.

Apple TV allow airplay from any apple device, media centre don't.
Apple TV can stream movies... your media centre can do that as well
as you download movies to watch... unless u airplay from your PC/ipad/iphone to Apple TV, if not Apple tv will not be able to play the file. bear in mind that Apple TV is not a media player. while your media centre can play it well directly.
apple tv is "lite" while media centre is "heavy"... in terms of footprint, power consumption, bla bla bla.
many people who already has media player/home theatre/media centre will still get apple tv for the airplay ability.
those who want to stream video instead of downloading will choose apple tv as well.

Very true. I have a media player but I use my Apple TV mainly for Air Play. Having said that, I now try to download mp4 formats instead of MKV mainly so that I can put into the iTunes library as the UI is much better than my non-modded media player UI. Since I'm not particular with crystal crisp images, mp4 suits me just fine.

I used to have to transfer what I download into an external hard disk, bring it to the media player to play it. The shifting of all this peripherals was getting to me till I learned how to stream.
