Hi. My current setup is Maxis home fibre 10 mbps - Apple TV3 - Panasonic Plasma TV. Borhui is kind enough to intro me his one month free trial of Netflix and HuluPass. Below is my observation and would like some comments:
1. Netflix vs HuluPass - somehow I feel netflix interface is better than HuluPass in apple TV3. I keep on going back to watch netflix rather than hulupass mainly due to I am not trying to catch the latest series maybe.
2. Netflix content. What u guys watch really? I am watching those old series like prison break, lost, heroes. Some movies like avengers, flight etc. What are the newer movies to catch?
3. Video quality of netflix. This is pretty much random. how do u guys tell if it is SD, 720p, 1080p or Super HD quality that is currently being streamed? Is there a setting to show it? I am able to tell there is difference in quality from raw eye viewing. Everytime when i start a video, it will start at low quality like 720p, some videos after some time will improve to better quality, so i assume 1080p. Some just remain at that initial video quality throughout (maybe 720p). This usually applies to series with many episodes. Those quality that improves over time usually are movies or single episode comedy shows (russell peters). Do you guys experience the same? Movies like The dictator somehow seem to stay at 720p (maybe) throughout. But movies like avengers appear to be in very high quality (1080p or even superhd maybe?). The only time i experience very poor video quality (standard definition, SD??) is when i skip forward the video and the quality during that skip forward or backward seems to be the pooerest. Any guys can comment on ur video streaming quality?
