just bought an apple tv two days ago. mirroring from ios devices is pretty impressive. i can play iflix from my iphone, use vlc to play movies in my NAS. now waiting for unifi 30mb installation to try video streaming using netflix etc.

i have some minor issue with my apple tv gen 4. to be precise, problem with disney XD and disney junior app.

i can download and see list of program in the app after i download it. however, after i sign in to my provider (comcast xfinity), the app keep on crashing upon loading.

not sure if this is related to geo-location. but my hulu, netflix, FX channel app all working fine (with unotelly dns).

i've tried to delete and reinstall the app. but the issue still persist.

any bro here also use disney app?

my hulu is working fine currently. unotelly trial is over, and i'm trying simpletelly. once simpletelly trial over, maybe i'll try another dns before deciding to subscribe to which one.

anyone here have DirectTV subscription? how was it?

simpletelly trial ended. didn't work with Disney apps. now i'm trying getflix but haven't tested disney apps yet.

for disney app, i managed to make it work. apparently you need to change your time zone.don't use automatic. select manually. i tried using new york time, disney apps no longer crashed.

you are using Xfinity account too, right? if previously you tried to activate some channels, but couldn't find xfinity in the provider list, there's a way to make it work.

previously i can't sign in for travel channel, food network, and hg tv. you can google "Comcast Xfinity Apple TV Activation URLs" for steps to activate those channels.

i just received silicon cover for my remote. bought it from ebay.

i'm having issue with HG TV, Travel Channel and Food Network since they release app update yesterday. anybody else encounter same problem?

never tried with VPN. i only use smartdns to bypass the geo-location thingy. i am using unotelly currently.

some of the channels require your apple tv time set to US time (eg: Disney Junior, Disney XD).

shouldn't be much problem if using any smartdns. maybe you can contact purevpn support for help.
i am using simpletelly and no problem so far.

apps are quite limited at the moment but you don't use your tv like you use your smartphone. for me, enough by having netflix/hulu/iplayer/hbo go and VLC. vlc can easily play movies stored in my NAS (without DLNA server). youtube is easy to use as well.

if you want to stream using Hulu, i think it's only available in ATV 4, not in ATV 3.

for the time being, i don't see any reason i would prefer to browse internet in using my tv compared to my ipad/iphone/laptop. so, not having internet browser is not really an issue. and i can always mirror my ipad/iphone/mac using airplay.

for games, it's quite limited. i'm bored with rayman, jetpack joyride and crossy road. songpop party is quite nice to play. i only play the bowling game a couple times. Beat sports is quite nice too. i haven't tried any RPG type game because i think i'll need a proper game controller. steelseries nimbus haven't entered our market officially (but can be bought from Lazada, no warranty). asphalt got good visual for a freemium game. there's one more game that i forgot the name, but the gameplay is similar to crash bandicoot / mario kart (i think it's call beach race or something).

anybody tried to use iptv in ATV 4? i've seen some article people are use MrMC or OHM TV app to stream iptv. i haven't test any yet.

i'd be great if we can watch at least some malaysia free live tv channel in ATV 4.
