Apple TV is not your average mediaplayer. I'be been using it for about 2 months now and have stopped buying DVDs or Blurays. Jailbreaking is the way to go to fully utilize this magical little black box. Also AirPlay mirroring will blow you away. Everything on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 will appear on your LCD TV. I can jailbreak the apple TV in less than 40 minutes. I hardly watch astro or iptv nowadays. All latest and old movies, tv shows, music concerts, comedies etc at your fingertips 24 hours a day, for FREE!

hi, regarding your comment on "AirPlay mirroring will blow you away. Everything on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 will appear on your LCD TV." is the mirroring take 100% full screen on the LCD TV? or with black border?

how about without jailbreak it, can i use whatever app in my iphone/ipad to do the AirPlay mirroring or only those app with tv out support?

Yep, there's an optical to analog audio converter box. You can get one at the Hi-fi shop at Low Yat's ground floor, near the stairs/ Maxis centre. RM169, if I remember correctly.

too bad it's quite far as i'm currently in melaka, never mind, i just checked my store room, i have a shuttle xpc with optical input & output & analog audio output, which may be temporary as a audio converter for my apple tv3, will go there to check it out when i'm in KL/PJ. thanks,

yes, Full HD is only availalbe in ATV3, i'm quite satisfied with it becuase it's very smooth even using my old modem with only wireless 54Mbps wifi.

It can be download directly from App Store, just search for PPS. Then try to play any movie, and airplay it to Apple TV. Really appreciate if you can test it for me before I buy ATV. Thank you.

smile.gif i did used PPS before, yes, support AirPlay to AppleTV. but most of them are chinese movies or programs from taiwan/china/hongkong/korea drama. but what did impressed me is the movie quality is great for it's small movie filesize.

Yeah this is the ideal connection however itunes can't play MKV files. Didn't want the hassle to convert file.

It will be good if xbmc is supported in ATV3.

there is an app called "Subler" which can change the mkv file header to .mp4 format in about 1 to 2 minutes, no conversion is needed.
