Those who managed to get their hands on ATV4, is Plex available already in the TV OS store?

What apps/programs are you guys thinking of using in the ATV4?

You can set DNS in most hardware components. In your ATV, Desktop, Iphone etc. So this means, you can tell most of your computer items to use which DNS. There is no 'hardwiring' DNS...

Currently using unlocator.com for DNS on my ATV3 and it works fine.

Not much other than airplay works flawlessly. Also Plex is a great addition, organizes your downloaded movies and you can add few plug-ins to watch TV streams/movies.

A bit early to see what good apps will come out of TVOS...

Did anyone start using Simplex app to access Plex?

It will be available but you won't be able to access unless you subscribe to a DNS/VPN and Netflix subscription.

I would be interested to hear field reports too... I ordered mine. Arriving on Friday....

Some channels need US cable subscription which is not possible to get outside US. But you can always get Hulu or Netflix. I'm waiting for our local iFlix to come on Apple TV and with 8 RM monthly subscription I think will be worth it. You'll also need to use a US iTunes account which is easy to create.

I believe 5 Mbps Unifi should be enough to stream without lagging. May likely affect other Wifi users in your home if their watching video streams (Youtube etc.)...

1. On top of mirroring you can stream any videos or music (non-mirroring mode) being played from your iphone/ipad to ATV. What I also do is install Plex on my desktop and download movies there. On ATV app store, there is an app called Simplex which can play movies from your Plex desktop server. You can also install plugins in Plex like CNN, Icefilm and etc which you can play on your ATV through Simplex (I believe this is true, as I have not received my new ATV4 yet ).

2. Yes VPN or DNS will bypass the region and you are able to watch some videos in those apps (NBC, History etc.). However, some of them requires US cable subscription. I do think Hulu for TV channels and Netflix for movies are good choicec. I also recently heard of Sling TV which is worth checking out. Hulu, Netflix and Sling TV can be watched through ATV without restrictions in Malaysia but requires subscription.

Great review... I just got mine today.

So far so good but I'm having problems with Hulu playback, getting a 5003 error but a reboot solved the problem.

Yes, I entered a DNS manually so it works.

Am using Plex, not sure how good NAS is but storing my movie collection on Plex is excellent.

Hi, the best device for mirroring apple ipad/iphones is the apple tv.

So far from my experience, the rest either doesn't work well or does not work at all...
