After some hesitation, I finally bought a Fitbit a few weeks ago. For those who're not aware of what it is, have a look at the Fitbit website and browse around. To summarize though, the Fitbit is a device that can track your activity throughout the day, providing you with a breakdown of your sedentary vs. active times, how many steps/stairs you took all day, sleep records, etc.
I've been very happy with the Fitbit. The biggest eye opener for me is how good I am at going up stairs rather than taking the elevator On a typical workday I go up 30-40 floors. The sleep tracker is also very interesting, my sleep efficiency seems to be very high but I don't get enough sleep, averaging less than 6 hours every night The challenge now is to be more active at work, walk more, not sit down too much. The Fitbit lets me track this, on top of the regular workouts I already do.
Biggest cons for the Fitbit (aside from the US$99 price) is the food log which sucks big time. Very western oriented and not very comprehensive even then. The good news is that Fitbit is integrating with MyFitnessPal soon which has far better food tracking including the typical malaysian fare.
Anyone else have questions please feel free to post here. I'm not selling anything, just a happy user
