Not really lag. Mine SGS2 so far is ok with 99% no lags. Some lags are because of the apps. not the phone. Example:pirated apps, poorly rated apps on market.
Because of android is open source, some apps developers is messing with his apps. sweat.gif

will rooting the phone cause lag to sg note?
*
No. Even rooting can unlock some features like phone back up and some apps depend on root.. You can try install custom ROM which is fast and battery friendly. This because custom ROM usually already remove the unused samsung apps and has been tweaked to be stable, fast and battery friendly. smile.gif

any stable rom can recommend? any flash traces cannot be removed with jig?
*
As I dont have note, so I cannot tell you the best ROM that available. But you can try Criskelo ROM,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448425
I had use his ROM in my SGS2 before this. No problem and battery life is good. And it also ICS themed.
The rule of flashing ROM is follow every step. Dont rush it. And yes can remove flash trace with usb jig.
More info for note can refer to this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2239574&hl=note
