I suggest you get the MF680 + Portable Router (Tp-Link). Price about Rm300 depend on shop location.
Instead of MIFI..... At least MF680 can plug to any broadband router without to take out the SIM Card.

hi all, im new to the 3g internet. Previously was tethering from my handphone but wanted a dedicated service. I got U mobile that came with a ZTE MF190. I want to get ur expert opinions on which has better signal capture as i live in the outskirts and gotta find spot in the house to get good 3g reception. Currently i can't get 1Mbps download also even though im using the rm128 package.

1. Is connecting it to a wifi router with existing mf190 better or shifting straight to a MIFI router? Are there any compromise in 3g signal capture compared to 3g modem dongles? Are MIFI routers wifi signal shorter distance compared to dedicated WIFI routers?

2. If MIFI router is the better option, Which device should look for? I've checked around and found a few:
a) D-link DWR530 (have not seen any reviews from any malaysian  
     using it so far. and saw that it has only b/g and no n for WIFI)
b) Huawei 5331 (it shows b/g/n capability but not sure its WLAN is actually n)
c) ZTE mf60 (saw the manual showing b/g WLAN but compatible with n devices...so it still runs at g WLAN speed).

Has anyone tried installing external antenna n does drastically help in signal capture? if so then i cant use the MF190 as it does not have any external port for antenna.... Your opinions on this big mess in my head will really help me and i appreciate any views on this. Thanks

You used the RT-N66U on Factory FW or Custom FW?

hi guys, am wondering. i want to get a mifi. i have two choices.

one, i get a sim with surf more data plan of 5GB for RM75. then just buy a mifi device. insert the sim and tadaaah! i get constant data throughout the day but only 5GB quota. problem is i have extra cost to buy mifi.

or i could just get maxis's wireless broadband 8GB for 68 bucks. prob is it has a peak/non-peak hours and also i'm tied to a 12 moth contract. although at least i don't have the hassle to find seperate mifi..

so what do you guys think?
