If you wanna buy tp link 1043 model, no worries it is easy to setup just click unifi mode in the router GUI. The discussion on Open WRT or DD-WRT is for custom firmware. Factory firmware for this model is alright.

first you need to login to 192.168.1.1
then you go to wireless/wireless security
then select WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK
you can leave version and Encryption as "automatic"

you can enter your PSK password, should 8 to 63 character, you may need to reboot your router once you are done.

if you are using windows 7, search from internet with "Manage Wireless Networks"  to guide you how to setup wireless connection with windows 7.

i very the enjoy my TL-WR1043ND wub.gif

sharing my experience...

lesson learn: dunno why the router i bought TP-Link TL-WR1043ND with UNIFI sticker and UNIFI MODE to choose...

i setup & reset so many times using the setup gudeline + quick setup
cannot get my WLAN working

then i tried flash KLSEET's firmware, step by step instruction from his website...

a few hicups, at the last step i finished setup, reboot and try open "google" but cant... then i check back, and realized... dunno why the unifi ID & password set back to "username" ... then i re-enter ID & Pass & reboot

then it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks to KLSEET ..........!!!

just give it a try and u will like it....
i think my problem is cause by unifi and not openwrt itself..

openwrt really rock!

there chances i will spoil the router/btu or not?

or worst thing also i can reset to factory and start over again?

worse thing u will brick your router. But if you follow step from http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=98&Itemid=92

nothing will go wrong. But if you  try  something extra(just  like me who bricked 2 of it ), then you have to be careful to know what you try to do.

oh my gosh... what did u do, i want precaution. esp i wont be knowing what i'm doing

the steps in klseet site look simple.. so tempting to try...
