Hi guys, I need advise on the installation of stainless steel kitchen door.

I'm taking down my existing metal door and metal frame windows and replacing them with stainless steel door & aluminium frame sliding windows.
Should I purchase ready made door then ask my contractor to start the work or should I ask my contractor to start the tear down, leave the space for the door and based on the measurement I order a custom made door?

You're the house owner...
that money is yours..
so, its up to you.. smile.gif

if you want to custom the door better you order first then ask contractor to fit it... make sure the measurement is correct.

Well, my contractor asked me to purchase the door first, but after calling a few stainless steel door selling, they asked for the measurement first...FYI, I'm tearing down the build in metal frame for door and windows, they are basically link together so I can't give the seller an exact measurement...sigh

If you ask grills maker to do the stainless steel door, you need to build the area first. Unless you getting the security door.

You need the door and frame right? So you need to get the frame delivered first, then your wet works contractor can build the frame into the wall.

Remember to have it at least standard sized (or bigger), or else electrical items like fridge and washing machine might not be able to get through.

It's settled now. I was told by the door maker to leave a 32" X 82" space for the stainless steel door + frame, my contractor agreed with that.
Thanks for all the advise smile.gif
