emm... just want to inquire... id mcmodel also considered as bootleg? their model doesn't copy any existing b****i modem is it? not 100% right? and 1 more thing... is Mc model is a newcomer? because ii only came across 2 model of thier's .. the nightingale and hws nu gundoom?... any reseller here? would like to see more models from other company...he3

as far as i know, mcmodel is not quite considered a bootleg brand.. seems like they come up with their own resin kits based on original models.. i'm sure the more experienced ones would correct me if i'm wrong

i think someone pointed earlier that MCModel copied some resin kits and made it into a snap build plastic kit.

so in a way its a bootleg bt is converted into a movable, plastic kit.

bt MCModel sure do some tinkering with it to come up with the plastic model kit version. so its kinda original

Yeah this has been a long discussed topic. McModels uses Gundam designs without paying royalties to Sunrise or B*ndai.

They use those designs and make resin and plastic kits. In a way it is stealing the design, but they aren't stealing the kit.

TT and all the other copy brands, use the exact same runners as B*ndai. That is stealing, both the kit and design.

McModels - Bootleg
TT - Bootleg x 2

i think its like this :

MCModel & Gogo : bootleg + innovation.
Gao Gao / TT and others : bootleg to the max.

bt there are others that really comes up with their own original kits, like the TT Hongli Sangokuden Perfect Grade series, LWD Sangokuden series, and that new line LWD gonna come out with.

bt hey, cheap kits is great, and we all love it. haha

we're buying kits as a hobby anyway! with such expensive import tax, we can't always buy b brand
but to be honest i prefer cheap kits. in addition to actually being cheaper, it also requires more work so i don't have to buy so many to keep myself occupied

bootleg or not, it's not us consumers problem, n it's up to us to love it or hate it

right as General_Nic says it's up to us either like it or dislike but i like everyone in this forum, no judging who using b**dai or bootleg kit. It's hobby, it supposed to bring us fun. erm actually it'd be better to buy ori Bandai. the quality is assured and furthermore they are the rightful reapers of the profits.
well sure some of us can't afford the ori ones, but maybe shud try make the effort to spend less on pirated and go for ori. u know, have a balance.

as for me i kinda stop on Bandai liao. i'm now in this tered for those pirated kits which Bandai doesn't have.

though as much as i'd like to support Bandai, sometimes having a competitor also keeps them running up on par, instead of milking on the same base-model over and over again (think MG Strike).

So far Mc'Model kits are great, albeit soft plastics. TT has been disappointing (MG SF and Sinanju Bazooka).

And of cos i'm all anticipating for RC NIGHTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I second to that, although after modeling and painting... looks awesome! I too have lots of Bandai and most are 1/144 and MG's that still in the box but D@MN! This KO kits can really give you a blast and it keeps on improving! I started with Zaku and keeps goin and goin...

How about Zoids entering the KO line? What's next? 12 inch Hot Toys probably starting with Mark 1? Hehehe.....

No offense guys but let's support Bandai also otherwise, there will be no more runners to copy

And if the bootlegging goes too far, worst case scenario, Bandai gives up Gundam-ing entirely and there'll be nothing left for us to enjoy, Gundam-wise.

well i thinking bootleg as replacement part and for mod use.. not illegal at all
for collection value i sure choose Bandai one

i'm pretty sure they won't give up gundam entirely, since it's their bread and butter
besides, most of the kits they produce have not been copied and it's just a bit of price competition for those that have been copied so they're kept on their toes. at least it might drive them to produce more/better quality kits at a more competitive price to promote their original products
in any case, most of us here still support original! but of course our wallets have to allow it!

hmm.. the anaklosmos look a bit simplistic for such a price tag..
would be nice if there were more pics on the runners or manual.. i will reserve judgement till then
