Hi Guys,
Still having the lag issue, here is what I have done so far... Installed Memory Optimizer (configured auto kill) Remove quite alot of unused apps. Remove unwanted widgets. Now homescreen got 3 widget only. (Email, Calendar & Elixir) When I play games my device still lags or jams.... crap... this is bad... I understand almost all users recommend supercharger, but i cannot install it cause the moment I do I am unable to access my Good Client Email which I need to access for work. Apparently Good Client Email can only work on original roms due to its security thing... I really appreciate if anyone can advise what can I do to speed this up. I move from Galaxy S (1ghz processor) to ARC S due to the faster processer speed, however now it's getting WORST!.... |

QUOTE(shahrul_sama @ May 17 2012, 12:24 PM) should be gud..im only 53 mb ram left...fyi the free ram is cache + actual free ram...always make the cache lower as possible because arc s got very limited of ram...try delete your cache memory... Hi Bro,btw is it all type of game makes your phone lag or one specific game only.. Before we continue, I would like to thank you for help... really appreciate it. Yup, normally when my cache reach 20MB i will clear it off... ermm... good questions, here are the list of games i have installed... Winds Of Steel (Lag... very bad) Lets Golf HD (Lag) Fruit Ninja (Lag and sometimes auto close) Can Knockdown 2 (no problem... very smooth) Robo Defence (Lag) Guns and Glory (no problem... very smooth) Worms (no problem... very smooth) Thing is, the home screen it self lags... it takes about 2 seconds from the time I press the "Phone" button till the time it shows me the dial pad.... I even compared it to a SE ARC... and the SE ARC loads faster than my ARC S.... |

QUOTE(kumbangdesa @ May 17 2012, 03:28 PM) Added on May 17, 2012, 3:41 pm there are 2 reasons about lag about playing games : 1. touchscreen of arc and arc s got different display driver..here i quote what KalleD (officers from Sony) was said.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...48&postcount=60 2. some games are still not supporting ICS yet .. for dialer it is a bug that Sony must be wipe out in ICS 4.0.4.. Thanks for the help 1. for the display driver, I assume that sony will fix this in the next ICS update? is there a way that we can fix ourselves? 2. I almost came to that understanding, however since I got 2 phones and both running ICS, I tested the same game on both devices, it just dont make sense... all the games works fine with my HTC Sensation. Only on ARC S it is having issue. 3. If I install a 3rd party launcher, will this solve the issue? |

Hahaha, thanks for the super quick response man.. 2. your Sensation running 4.0.3 or 4.0.4?..there must a different about their spec that supporting it.. 3. i'm not sure bro coz it display driver problem..try it and see anything got improvement..for me nova launcher is the best ICS launcher.. p/s : for dialer lag, you can use exDialer from playshop..it's a fast dialer.. Both devices running 4.0.3.... I wonder when Sony can comeout with 4.0.4... I cannot tahan dy.. hahaha... I'll just tahan the lag for the moment till Sony comes out with an update... cant risk to root my device and change rom... |

Do you know where the dictionary file is stored for ARC S running 4.0.3? I have 2 androids, so I would like to copy my existing dictionary from my other droid to my ARC S |

Idea is so that I can copy all my bahasa words and put it in so that it will recognize them. (will be easier to type during SMS since the phone will recognize my personal BM words.) |

Here are the key issues I found with the official Sony 4.0.3:
1. Dialer - Lag 2. Switching Screen - Lag 3. Games - Lag & VERY LAG when playing graphical games 4. GPS - sometimes your car just stuck there and all of the sudden it moved for a few kilometers. 5. 3D Camera - Honestly, I really dont know how to use this. 6. Screen - at times unresponsive. Someone here told me before that this could be due to the graphic driver... haih... now I'm waiting for 4.0.4... i really hope sony fixes this. |

Uik, you got the 4.0.4 update? how u got it? last I check few days ago Sony Companion still say my 4.0.3 is the latest version...Same problems like 4.0.3 1. Dialer lag, contact also. 2. Switching screen lag. 3. Game, Tried playing temple run, still lag but better like 70% than GB I guess. 4. GPS I ok ok lo. I use Sygic n papago X5. 5. 3D camera. Same never use dono use n not going to use. :@:@ 6. Screen unresponsive. This is really very very bad. U press also noting happens. U press the on off button let it sleep, then press home button the screen don't show anything. The screen still sleeping, but between the keypad got light. Very very bad. Then again make sleep, then wait. Then will wake with lag. Sometimes cannot wake it, need remove battery. :@ :@ Screen sleep like Sony developers. Battery drain off super bloody fast, my phone is not rooted or unlockedbootloader. Still like original. ICS 4.0.4 very bad. GB better. Really need root this cb ICS. Added on June 1, 2012, 6:57 pmCharging also bloody slow, unlike GB very fast charge. |

Hi Guys,
This is my review of 4.0.4 vs 4.0.3 on my Arc S. - Screen change is still lag but better than before. - GPS is working GREAT, better than my HTC Sensation. Takes about 12 seconds to detect where you are on Papago M9. - Dialer screen still lags but better than before. - Games, Majority of games still lags not sure why. - Back button: hitting the back button now got delay. - Camera: Picture looks better, no over exposure. However there is slight lag when you move the camera. - 3D camera: still dont know how to use it... haih... - Voice talk: DDDAAMM clear! especialy on speaker phone mode. - Few additional apps (mostly you wont use or need) - Battery Life: Better than before (p/s: I dont use Mobile data, saves alot of battery) Faster charging compared to before & my HTC Sensation. Summary: Better than 4.0.3. A worth while upgrade if you are on 4.0.3 now. *Sony should know that majority of their customers wants a clean rom or at least useful apps. e.g. Viber, Whatsapp & etc. They should have hired me to their Mobile Phone Apps R&D team |

QUOTE(Gurvin Abruzzi @ Jun 5 2012, 01:37 PM) hahahahahah I don't think Sony is hiring people with experience in Android apps inwhich I believe they should if they want to become the market leader in Android phones. The have awesomely designed phones but with bad apps and slightly later tech. then need to change from the current approach to designing awesome phones with superb specs and normally used apps with more ram Common sense, in which I think Sony currently lags. |

Guys quick question,
As I am still on official 4.0.4 with a unrooted ARC S. I would want to hear some comments for those who has rooted to XDA roms. Appreciate if you can let me know the following performance on your devices with a non-official roms. p/s: I am really pis*ed off cause the device lags like crap. so now want to know comments so that I can decide to root or not. 1. Screen performance (while switching screens) 2. Dialer performance (when click on the phone icon) 3. Game performance (got lag or no lag when playing games) 4. Battery life? 5. Overall summary of the rom you installed. Thanks in advance for your comments, sincerely I appreciate it. |
