do you guys really rate suarez (luiz that is) that highly? i figure he's skillful, and he's a handful to handle, but he isn't clinical enough. personally, i would imagine gervinho and suarez are about the same in terms of finishing.
looking at goals scored this season in the EPL, suarez has 5 goals vs gervinho's 4 goals. i'd rather get henry on loan. =) |

Luiz Suarez... Scored some important goals for Liverpool when they needed them last season, but does he offer the same kind of impact as Torres did when the latter first arrived? No. Same goes with Andy Carroll. looking at goals scored this season in the EPL, suarez has 5 goals vs gervinho's 4 goals. i'd rather get henry on loan. =) Gervy is a different kind of player being used in a different manner. Right now he offers us something that our recent teams haven't been able to provide, i.e. directness in his play and penetration. His inefficient finishing is indeed frustrating, but as long as he keeps getting into the correct positions he'll get chances and eventually he'll put them away. Remember the time when Bendtner was ridiculed for not scoring despite having 5, 6 chances in one game? He grabbed a hattrick in the next match. Speaking of Bendtner... He's getting into a lot of trouble and we all know how intolerant le Boss is to mischievous players. The chances of him returning to Arsenal is getting slimmer by the minute and if he keeps this shit up he'll find it hard even at other clubs. He's still better than Chamakh who can't score and Park who can't even get a freaking game to be honest. The jury is still out on Titi's loan deal. I'm not having any kind of expectations on him really, but if he could do what Henrik Larsson did for MU some time ago that'd be swell. |

No. Same goes with Andy Carroll. i pretty much agree with all your points. the point i was trying to make was why arsenal would want suarez (whose finishing ratio is similar to gervy. i'm just taking it at face value of what i've seen of them and the current season's stats) when a clinical finisher ala torres at liverpool and henry for arsenal in his prime is what we need to relieve some of that humongous burden that RvP currently carries. as for the henry loan deal, it'll be good i'd imagine, if only to lift the players' spirits at the very least. if he can be our henrik larrson for MU, that would be best 2 month loan deal ever for arsenal. =)Gervy is a different kind of player being used in a different manner. QUOTE(sickx @ Jan 6 2012, 12:31 PM) Juz to highlight here, Matias is no small fries, he is calm, have some skills and can score goals from a distance like Rosicky during his prime. current Europa league's season top scorer, scored in 5 out of 6 matches including a hat-trick against AEK Athens and 2 each to different matches of lokomotiv moscow, stum graz. Question as to why didn't he get into the national team. Well, the argentine's got Aguero, Messi, Tevez, Higuain, Milito, Pastore, Angel Mario.. Not easy to get in. But that benefit us nicely if he can play. On the other Suarez, yea he is good and its a bonus if we got him but Liverpool needs him more than us since we got Gervinho. And yea, one thing Gervinho offered us the most is his penetration into opponent's back line. Something hard for us to do since the departure of Fabregas (some said Nasri too but that guy is kinda inconsistent, can penetrate for 3 matches and become small fries for next 5 matches). Can see from his work rate, kept on running the ball forward, bringing it forward by means of crossing or dribbling through instead of saw a giant obstructions then 'back pass'. so yea, Gervinho is someone we needed most and came at the right time. Someone we didn't expect to see after the endless talks of Mario Gotze and Eden Hazard. But we should appreciate his arrival and again Professor AW showed us how good he is at his job. Though dunno for wad he brought PCY and Mertesacker. They both aren't really functioning coz Arsenal played offside trap, high line defense, need someone fast enough to trace pacey forwards, Per himself must have some regrets leaving his clubs to us. meanwhile, that Park didn't get any games and will be saying " annyeonghi gyeseyo" 2 years later. |

Sky Sports sources understand Thierry Henry has completed his loan return to Arsenal and will be eligible to face Leeds United in the FA Cup on Monday.
