For fuel consumption and performance, you won't go wrong with either the C100 or C140 turbo diesel models. The 2.4 petrol will just deplete your wallet faster than anything can! However, between the two, the C140 has a better engine (different from C100) and is a little more economical between the two. Plus, it is much more refined and has better NVH.
For such a large car, it really seats 7 very comfortably (7 normal sized adults) but the best part is the torque. Not a lot of top speed but it is decent enough. If you can, use Euro5 diesel as it makes a biiiiiggggg difference in driving!
I'm not able to comment about the maintenance cost though as the company maintained it for me back then.
