Guys, i planning to join Muay Thai. Seriously thought of it for years but no time for it... now i have it smile.gif
I come across with this Impact Muay Thai @ Taman Desa, trainer call Dannis.

Any advice?

Reason i choose this because of location is near my office so i can do my learning after work.

If it's near your office then go for it! But do go on trial first before you sign up anything.

I joint the MMA class for trial then signed up for that, kinda regret only after signed up and 1st class in Muay Thai.

Why? Lets say 1 and half hour of class, almost 1 hour to do warm up and exercises, nt exactly what i want, I want to learn something really martial art, no some sort of gyms, I have heavy long punching bag, glove, gyms set at home, so why i go there for gym not technics?

But one thing for sure, I will burn more calories over there than working out at home, just look at the bright side.

Lets hope it will be better in the future.

sometimes you need to let your trainers know what exactly you want to learn. spend some time with them after the class and ask how can you learn more techniques.

is hazrul still teaching muaythai there?

If we're talking about the same Hazrul here, no I don't think so. He's with a new gym now at Sri Hartamas called MuayThai FitnessLab..

I mean like, I am a beginner.. and just wanna try something other than GYM... I sees muay fitness is all about martial arts.. I am like 95kg now.. (overweight).. is it advisable to go directly for muay thai or slim down abit first?
*
If you are prepared, my advise is to go for it. Look for a martial arts gym with programmes that can be tailored for weight loss, let the trainers know your need and your fitness goal to slim down. As far as I am aware of, there are many reasons people join martial arts, and it's not just about the art only. Some are for the self defense and some to keep themselves fit.

hazrul ebab, if im not mistaken. his class is more fun, more muaythai n less cardio.. really miss that time. many trainers left muayfit already.
*
they are more into MMA now, think that's why trainers left...

Seems like many have misconception about martial art.

It is an art, art takes time, and lots of tedious repetition.

As much as we want the best coach, the coaches are looking for best student. So earn it, stop b****ing about what you want in the class. Just shut up and train.

There are a lot of warm up and cardio during training are because it takes certain flexibility and fitness to perfect this art, else will lead to injury. One bad injury can make you quit the whole program. Just like if you can't master A,B,C... don't expect the teacher will show you the spelling of APPLE.

Look up "after burn effect" in youtube/google, this is why the coaches always push so hard.

I've been to Sparta Muay Thai classes for trial, they have good coaches, and it is very hard to come by good coaches. For those who b**** about it, they just don't see what these great people see, that's all.

May the spirit of martial art be with you all.
