The Contest

Create a super cool t-shirts design. There are no limitation* for the
design except for creativity


The Rules*
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. This contest is open to all regardless of sex, age, race and location
2. Plagirism will not be tolerated
3. No trademark / copyrighted material should be used on the design
4. No obscene or banned substance should be used on the design
5. All design will be posted on this thread for evaluation by all
6. All design should be send to oniee_2000@yahoo.com
7. All submitted design can be in EPS / AI / PSD / JPEG or BMP
8. Result is final, no complain will be entertained


The Closing Date

30th November 2005, 11.59p.m ( EST ).

Any artwork send after this dateline will
not be entertained, however it will be posted for future contest.


Prizes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3 of their owned design t-shirt fully printed for free!

T-shirt size is at your choices. Color will be based on availability of stock...
but don't let that stop ya from using rainbow of colors

Delivery within South East Asia will be free! Other countries will have to pay
some ammount of their delivery charges.

The winning design also will be printed in quantity so that everyone can own
them


Legal Issues

We at twobrothersandasister.com and banana apparel have the right to print
and market the selected design for this contest.

All design will only be printed once. 2nd priting will be on the design owner
discreation

Design can be in any method, as long as the output in in a common format. So don't limit yourself.

Don't worry, If i can secure some sponsors this contest will be organised every 3 months. So if you miss the first just wait to the next and next and next....

We will only request permission for the first batch printing.
After that it's all up to the owner of the design to decide.

We will not owned nor do we have the rights to distribute,
copy or sell the design to any 3rd party without a written
consent from the owner.

I just thought that we don't have enough promo and contest
of this sort. Other t-shirt vendor do have such contest but
not as frequent as what we have planned.

This contest is a good promo and at the same time maybe
we can get freelance talent for our brand name. End of the
day all parties will be happy..hahaha

hmm.. probably him, his brother and sister would be the judges?

basically us three ( me, my bro and sis ) but other than that ppl on LYN or anywhere else can vote.

I would like it to be as open as it can be ( voting like )...we are not pro bunch so i think this way it is fair to every entry.

what do you all think?

i want to join i will post my design..i not good as a t-shit designer..i'm 14 years old don't know anything to make t-shirt..i will try to make it

while waiting for the design to fill my inbox. I would like to post a question to all.

What do you think if there is a website like these;

cafepress
old crappy t-shirt

It's a portal for custom shirts print and design. The idea is to replicate that concept but based in KL? As of now these concept only available outside of malaysia, eventhough we can still order, the shipping will be half of the t-shirts price.

Would this idea kick off?

The problem with the printers is that most of the time they only allow you print a certain area of the t-shirt. if you want to do something funky like those wrap-arounds, they won't do it. probably cost to much.. I don't know.

Anyway, I think a concept like this will work. Just that you'll have all designers with funky ideas approaching you and then as usual, they'll be haggling the price.

The one thing I like about Cafepress. It allows you to setup a shop for a certain price, they handle the payment and shipping, and all you do is create the Ts.

One thing though, do yo have an idea how this will continue existing?

my thought exactly... i have figured out most part about setting up something like cafepress...just the printing method and technology will consume a lot of your capital...

as for designer, always can pay them to design...end of the day...everybody happy...

Well, afaik.. Cafepress charges a basic fees for their t-shirts because since they're the ones printing, they also supply the Ts. Though I'm wondering how much is the actual cost of their Ts.

Also, speaking of t-shirts.. anyone care to explain to me, why is Fruit of The Loom so sought after? I've Googled and found a wholesaler selling it for only USD3 a piece. *scratch head*

just brand and manufacturer.... other than that, they are typical t-shirt maker...just like nike / adidas and and1....

If you search google, hundreds of people are selling their shirt dirt cheap ( bulk only )....how u wonder do they afford to sell them so cheap??? easy...they manufactured them in hundreds of thousand...that is why...

i work with an R&D company in KL....eventhough i'm from a graphic background...currently i'm in Industrial Design Dept...weird huh?

designing keep me on my toes...hahahaha...

well, designers will dabble in anything having to do with design because they are designers. we're too much a perfectionist and other than differences in theory and practical.. we're all still designers.

of course you can't be a full fledged architect from a graphic designer..don't know what'll happen to the building.

industrial design.. hmm.. products or textile..?

product design...haahaha..yeah i agree..what will happened to the building...funky yet useless...hahahah

** Announcement **

After much consideration and discussion ( a few convincing email ), we have decided to extend the competiton for an additional 2 weeks....which the new end date will be on

12 Dec 2005, 12 pm ET


to be fair to all who send in their design, there will be no more extension given in the future.

Anyhow, all the design sent before tdy will get an additional points added to them for being early. But public opinion will still counts toward the choice of the final winner.

so let the pen and mouse rolling...and keep the design coming!

PS -to sil3nthunt3r, i will upload ur 3rd design later tdy.

brilliant designs....so..will we be able to purchase it later on??

and oh ya...this is nice..can i purchase the red one??

the competition winner will have 3 free t-shirt of his/her winning design printed. If there are enough demand for it...then we will print it in quantity and sell it off the the general public.

yes it shouldn't be a problem. since ur the owner of the design, u'll have total control over it.

Only one teeny weeny problem...since the judging for this competition is done by us and all the other forumer out there...so u'll just have our vote and not the others cause they cant see it...

we like to think that all design are winners and there are no loser...just less favourable...

anyhow, we don't owned any of the design except designed by us. so...any request to publish or print them will be entirely on the owner decision.what we can do is that, we can help to output and print them and a % of the proceed will be given to the designer as incentive

I used Photoshop to create the circle. Sometime I use brush [can be download].

oniee... if the shirt design did not win.... can i re-use that design for my own purpose again...? for example enter in another competition or print them myself to be sold to others....

if it's my design, u can re-use anyway that you want...but if its someone else, you'll need to ask their permission...and if its your own design, you can re-use it in other contest.
