So earlier today, I went to a Bata store today with my aunt to get a new pair of shorts shoes for my daily usage to uni and stuff. I saw a cute black & purple one and asked for a size 10, and the guy there said "Sorry, this is women's shoes, no size 10" doh.gif I ended up having to get a size 10 MEN's sports shoes instead!! cry.gif But they are sooo ugly and bulky!!

So yeah..I have very big feet..and it's been a pain trying to find shoe that fit me!! I actually gave up on searching for shoes during high school & just stuck with sports shoes up till now. I've never been the girly kind & not really the clubbing/partying kind, so I was okie with not having pretty shoes or even heels (I am 5''9, so wearing heels would make me tower over people doh.gif ).

But seriously?? Why doesn't shops cater to big feet girls?? I am sooo tired of having to wear sports shoes and men's shoes. I had to wear black leather shoes for presentations & had to get a pair from the men's department cuz I couldn't find one that fits me in the women's dept. doh.gif I am not even looking for those pretty shoes or heels that only look good on petite girls, I just want decent flats or even Mary Jane shoes that are cute and not bulky like men's shoes.

Anyone here can tell me where I might be able to find shoes catering to girls with big feet in KL, especially like the one in the photo above??

I also need help in understanding this shoe size chart http://bata.com.my/orgbata/faces/jsp/stati...?articleid=1997 I know that the sizing is different for men and women's shoes, but how come Bata/Euro/UK have the same number for both men and women (except the smallest size)?? The measurement in cm and inches are the same too. Are they using the same number for both men and women, but the sizing is different?? Or is it only the US having two different measurement for men and women?? rclxub.gif

Pretty Fit @ Isetan KLCC carry shoes up to size 13. not sure if they still carry that brand thou.

do check out vincci n nose. they do have size 10, sometimes =)

i wear size 9, sometimes 9 1/2. i can understand how you feel. it's frustrating when you see a pair of heels you like and they dont have your size.

I think the more expensive shops like Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Marks & Spencers, etc would offer bigger shoe sizes because it's a western based company. (westerners are taller/bigger than asians)

I know someone who used to complain that she couldn't find shoes because she's a size 10 1/2, but she frequents Topshop because she could find her size there smile.gif

Thanks for the tips guys!! I wonder though, when ya'll said size 10, do you mean US size 10?? Because I got that sports shoes from Bata which is size 10, it seems like Bata is following the UK sizing. I am UK size 10, but from that chart I posted above, it seems like I am US size 12 & Euro size 44-45?? cry.gif i wanted to get a pair of cute velvet shoes online lately, size 43, but wasn't sure if they fit me...sigh..

i dont know what Bata size is (link may be broken?). anyhow, have a look at this chart here

http://your-shoe-store.com/wp-content/uplo...sion-chart1.jpg.

speaking of buying shoes online, perhaps it is better if you state the length of your foot in cm/inches. sometimes, different companies have their own sizing.

if you're indeed a UK size 10, i think you can only get shoes from western based companies. 1 thing for sure, mark & spencer do carry shoes that size.

I think mostly is following the UK one.
as for the pre-order shoes, it's best to measure ur feet first (in width, length) and try to find ur size through the measurement chart they provide, and ask the seller if u have to take bigger size or not. cus normally pre-order size 42 is size 10, but for some designs have to take 43 biggrin.gif

I always go for the biggest size just to be on the safe side. sweat.gif Size 42 really = size 10?? Cuz from the bata chart and the chart posted above by someone else, size 10 (UK) actually = 45-45? shocking.gif

I definitely have to measure the length of my feet. Again, been measuring them a few times over the last few weeks, wasn't sure if they were accurate. I measured around 10 6/8 inches.

S?o i dug around different conversion charts and I guess they have different measurement for the same number. Some showed that size 43 = 10.8 inches, others put it as 11 1/6 inches rclxub.gif

I guess that's the confusing part. IF you are using US sizing, they are both different. But it seem if you follow the UK size 10, then both men & women's size number are the same, Euro sizing (30-40+) are the same for men and women too, according to my German friend.

Clarks huh..thanks for the one in 1U soon. I sure hope they have this http://clarks.my/products/womens-original/...o-black-leather

I guess it's harder for me to find shoes because I prefer Mary Janes (like the ones in the link) than heels or overly flashy shoes. I even avoid shoes that has very shiny surfaces and bright colours. doh.gif My aim now is to find a comfy Mary Jane flats for daily office wear. So far I've only seen them online on JCPenny and I was tempted to order them..but the price after conversion is pretty steep >.<

So I went to 1U today to check out Clarks, Aldo, Nose, and Mark & Spencer. Mark & Spencer has very little choices. I found some nice flats at Clarks, but wow..I honestly never knew shoes could be so expensive shocking.gif They were like RM288 and some even go above RM300+!!! sweat.gif I already complained about how expensive my sports shoes were at RM68...But if I look for cheap shoes..they won't have my size... shakehead.gif The headache...

If I have to fork out more than RM250+ for shoes..I think I'd rather get some formal office shoes instead of fancy or casual shoes >.< thinking of ordering them from the NYC spree thread or Kulshopper...

I share your pain, girl. But I managed to find size 42 shoes at Cotton On- those flats, but they are literally a pain to use because they don't support the body at all. Before that, I used to buy from Pedalworks (I'm 5'7" and wear a size 11-12 womens or 10.5 mens) as they cater from sizes 4 to 12, but the thing is, Pedalworks is in Singapore (I used to work in SG). The Cotton On shoes were sourced for in SG too. Not sure if Msia stocks Cotton on flats for sizes 40 and up...

I now only use one super versatile slipper made from Phylon (a kind of plastic i guess) and it's been with me for a couple of years or so. Sorry I forgot the brand, but it's usualy RM 16.90 and you can get it from Tesco or Carrefour

Edit: OH THE BRAND IS ASADI! SUUUUPER comfy, great for wide feet and has good grip on most surfaces biggrin.gif
