I really hope uve given this some very serious thought. I think the Prius C is really poor in design. 

Well, for me i guess its the price comparison as always and a value for money proposition. If it was much cheaper, i would have turned a blind eye towards its design and interior plastics but for almost RM100K, i dont think its worth.

For the Americans who are paying only about US$25K for the top of the line Prius C, i would probably have the same view as him. But tell them to pay US$97K for the Prius C and then see what their comments will be like.
(dont do a currency conversion since we're comparing against ppl earning & living in the US and not tourists)

Ure obviously not getting my point then. Im not refering to Malaysians in general. Im refering to MYSELF and my justification of value for money. We've all been taken for a ride by the Japs for far too long. Yes no doubt they have given us good quality products and a good ride but all that has changed since about 3 years ago when the Korean revival started. And as long as we continue to support the Japs by accepting their vastly inferior spec'd cars, they will continue to feed us with crap.

Just look at the upcoming Camry. Toyota actually dares to launch a 2.0L so called '2012 new generation' flagship car that uses the same 2006 engine and the same 4 speed auto gearbox here in Malaysia/Asia. Would they dare to do the same in the US for a similar price? They would be torn to shreads by GM and Chevrolet and be thrown out of the country.

But here in Malaysia, we will continue to accept Toyota in all its glory paying super high premiums for practically 'empty' cars while kissing the Toyota emblem to kingdom come.

Trust me. These are the words of a die hard Toyota man who has had 9 years of good service from Toyota.

Really ah.  I thought small and economical car is best for this kind of job.

Hah, the trade in price of Civic is so high (75k) that I figure it is in high demand. Main reason for the change is that
(1) I prefer a smaller car, easier to park and maneuver, and I drive alone most of the time,
(2) my civic at 6th year old (bought at april 2006, one of the first on the road I guess) has started to show sign of wear and tear, suspension is giving up, rubber trim are fading, my vkool is getting blurrer day by day, cloth cover stay dirty no matter how u wash it.... so time for a change before something bigger pops up.
(3) the better accessories, keyless entry, japan built quality and 7 air bags of prius c kinds of make it feel like an upgrade for single driver like me.

Actually it is only more quiet if you ignore the braking sound, it is always there haunting you....

cruising quietly also has some cons, ppl complain in mall car parks,
when using HSD EV mode, pedestrians simply cannot hear your car coming, can cause accidents.

What u mean no line, is it wireless connection to the reverse camera..?

I might consider Toyota's OEM optional Panasonic DVD-AVN after comparison with outside ICE installer.
Reason: 1.Although we can get cheaper or better set outside, but not all workmanship is pro n some is also quite messy. Some prefer factory fitted.
            2.Not really cheap as I thought bcos for better quality branded units 6.1"-7" touch screen with bluetooth, usb, ipod, aux without GPS n reverse                                                                             
                camera is around RM1.4-1.6k. With add on GPS n HD reverse camera is RM2.4k, just different of Rm600 fr toyota's Rm2,990.
            3.If we replace outside; our standard unit just can only keep as spare unit or as standby for install it back when we sell the car or pass it to                       
                other toyota cars. This is due to the toyota's standard unit must connect to its car connectors n it will not works on other cars bcos it's an OEM
                unit design only for UMW toyota.

Two Options: Install the toyota's optional DVD-AVN unit which is expensive n forget about the standard unit 
                    or  install outside n keep the standard unit as spare.

The problem with the toyota dvd, it can only function when the handbrake is on. This can be modified for it to works but will void the unit warranty.

i book it in february. Just lucky that my dad knows the owner. Anyway, the later badge will be better with leather seat and 2-din radio option with more choice of color. Mine is just standard fabric seat and standard radio unit.

got the key to my orange prius c this morning instead of next week . Just have around test drive and now send my car to accessory shop for changing audio player to pioneer P4350 & reverse camera and get car tinted. will be ready at 6;00pm today. very happy now to have the car

have tested mine , both passenger and driver side no mater where u stand the light will illuminating once u come near to it as describe to tested.

In general, when the state of charge is over 70% or so, the computer tries extra hard to use battery power. The battery is "full" at 80%, and the computer won't let it charge any further. The target level is 60% (6 bars); cruising on the highway at a constant speed will almost always leave you there. Even being 2-3% away from a 60% SoC is enough to make a small but measurable difference in the amount of energy drawn from or put into the battery while accelerating.

Where u fix it..? jus chk w Ipoh shops, they sell 1900 + rev cam 200= 2100.

What about ur windscreen tint, did u take UMW's optional solar std tint (Ecotint) 1400/= or outside tint?
I tried d test car for 40 mins n felt their 1400/= tint is still not good enough to reduce the heat.

My experince..I tested d test car in hot noon for more than 40mins n have to full blast the aircon with lower temperature n this cause annoying loud blower sound when turn to auto mode. After 40mins still can fell the heat unless u full blast it all the way.

Does anyone here install other brand tints outside? Any recommend.. willing to pay extra more for a good quality tint n branded ones..

Confuse with too many branded ones outside. Some says Vkool is vry good in rejecting heat but long term will develope corrossion spots n affect d car bcos contain heavy metals element in it,  3M is good but problem with smart tag n GPS's receptions,  Llumar is better security tint but heat rejection is poor, too many choices.
Does anyone tried d above tints or any suggestions, pls give us a review here for all d  C" owner..

sometimes i think, izzit UMW flagship outlet will priority get the car faster? i booked via a Toyota dealer, not UMW direct, will it affect the delivery speed? like i said, PJ Sek 19 is a UMW flagship outlets, will there deliver car faster then other? but i don't think cancel current booking and rebook will get the car faster, end up gonna re queue.

I don't know about your situation there but in west most of the showrooms at least offered RM500/= discounts without asking them and if u know the SA or ask for discount, u can get more for the Prius C.  Maybe here got more competitions. No choice if got no discounts in your region but at least he must give you good after sales service.

My fren in Kota Kinabalu never ask for any discount when he got his Prius 1.8, so his SA kept quite. Worst still his SA there is calculative on everything single thing and poor knowledge on Hybrid Synergy Drive. Even the simple bluetooth voice command control function, his SA hv to wait for the SA manager and service technician for help.
Now in the west the discounts for Prius 1.8 is  RM1,000/=  to  RM2,000/=  and plus freebies.
