Just to let forumers know, based on these few times experiences, I found that, if you buy BDs with value and shipping charges (in this case is priority shipping) greater than RM500 from Amazon US, if Amazon US choice UPS to send your parcel, you will often (or can I said always) get import tax. blush.gif Is it because UPS have warehouse in KLIA so customs officers like to visit that place? This is bad news.

The good news is the tax, according to latest BF invoice and previous invoice, the tax is payable by shipper which I think is Amazon US agent not me since I am consignee. whistling.gif Based on this latest case, my parcel kena 10% tax which is about RM80+, but I need not pay anything. Their not even called me just delivery my parcel as usual. Based on this and previous experiences, Amazon US will not subsequently charge me if their didn't collect import tax deposit in the first place. Which didn't happened in my cases. In those cases, Amazon US never ask me to pay import duty deposit. tongue.gif

So, should we said UPS suck? biggrin.gif Since DHL never has this problem even value beyond RM500 and happened many many times in my case. tongue.gif

Anyone have similar experience? and I think 10% tax is a bit wired. If I remember correct, it should be 15% tax, right? hmm.gif Anyway, not my problem. oops.gif

So, is that mean, in future, if your parcel value more than RM500, you can pray for Amazon US ship your parcel using UPS. tongue.gif Another new Golden rule. biggrin.gif

Amazon US seldom use UPS send my parcel. I think not more than 5 times. But I already experienced 2 times kena tax for my parcels. Once is Bond 50 since include other BD too and another one is this time BF parcel. But both case, no require me to pay anything. biggrin.gif

Amazon UK also did sent my priority parcel once but not BD is some electronic product. Since total value less than RM500, their didn't tax that parcel. I saw their statement. tongue.gif

In my previous company, we have centralized purchase of IT equipments from oversea to our Asia Pacific offices, and from my experience, having own warehouse, with resident custom is actually better than no warehouse. This is because most of the resident custom know the warehouse people, and sometime will close one eye.

Like some forumer mention, don't buy goods + delivery charges total above certain value, this will risk getting tax, sometime if lucky it will release without tax. When I buy from oversea, I try ask the buyer to undervalue + shipping <= 100 USD. For Amazon I can't, so  I  only buy goods with shipment ,=100 USD. If greater I usually ship to Singapore and arrange someone I know to send back.

So far I have not heard that custom will charge the sender because is impossible to collect from them. Is the final destination address that got to pay. Your case, it could be UPS have settle for you, maybe custom close one eye.

UPS invoice said "SHIPPER PAYS ALL CHARGES". biggrin.gif Shipper is not Amazon too. biggrin.gif Funny.

But from Resit Rasmi issued by Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia, it is attention to agent, some Sdn. Bhd. in our Malaysia. Maybe is those company handling customs declaration. tongue.gif

hmmm... looks like they've changed a bit here and there of the Rimowa briefcase... and they add cost to the retail price? well now that I've sapu Thor & Capt America during BF last week while already owned Iron Man & The Incredible Hulk; chances of me still wanting to purchase this case has become slimmer & slimmer by the day...  tongue.gif

But if you already order last time. their still recognized that cheaper price.

For those using Priority Shipping in Amazon US, did you notice lately Amazon US use UPS (or majority) instead of DHL just like usual.

Or this only happened to me. hmm.gif tongue.gif

Standard International Shipping for my Bat Cowl. Tahun depan sampai.. YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAA.....smile.gif

Their can't supply my copy cause their said their unexpected demand so high. Their upgrade my order to priority shipping for free but my shipping already priority shipping. yawn.gif

Then, I told them, in case, their can't get my copy from suppliers, I ask them to replace a normal edition for me in same order in order to reduce my troublesome of re-ordering again.

But, the CS interpreted my message as I am asking them to cancel my Bat Cowl edition and replace a normal edition. yawn.gif

Anyway, today normal edition still cheaper than yesterday, so, I didn't said anything and just accept their offer.
