Please help me.

I'm trying to play movies from my laptop, connected to my HDTV via HDMI. I've already connected ARC from TV to Blu Ray player but no sound comes out from the Home Theatre system, sound only from TV itself.

I called up Sony and one of their salesperson mentioned maybe the ARC cable is not compatible with my TV (HT is Sony, TV=Pana) and he asked me to buy an audio optical cable.

Is this true?

cool. but you are lucky bro because you dont have to declare at kdn which is located opposite the pos building. after step 3 above, ive to bring my parcel across to kdn building & show the contents before the officers there if it's legitimate and get endorsement! then ive to return to pos & show the approval and then only step 4 & so on

edit - oh, but that was 2-3 years ago.. kdn might have set-up their booth in pos by now... i think

no la, i'm not a mass or specialized bd collector like all these sifus here (including u oso la...). if i post here, sure i malu one...    i oso a passive bd collector now, especially this year... only buy when got discount or sales like BF hehe... in other words, a cheap-skate collector keh keh... but i'm kinda interested in this one though...

Just started watching movies again after 6 years movie black out. My last cinema experience was back in 2006 watching Re-Cycle, after that my movie experience was watching DVD max 2 movies per year. But things have changed since I got into watching BD end of last year

btw, im sort of breaking my own record of not buying any bd since last november; by ordering some el cheapo catalogue titles plus MI:4! funny thing now as compared before, amazon had already charged my cc while my shipment has yet to be shipped until hari raya this sunday... is it common for amazon to charge before shipping nowadays... or am i just being outdated?

Getting BDs in Singapore won't be cheap due to current currency exchange and those BDs from their AV retailers.... Not cheap at all.
You can go check it out while your there but i doubt you may want to purchase one back. Lol...... Unless of course that title is super rare or limited edition.

ive been doing tony scott movie marathon myself these past few days... although i only have 4 of his movies on bd so far. i dont have crimson tide on bd yet, but i read it has v.good PQ given it's only one of the early batch of disney titles on blu-ray format! now already having this & true romance in my shopping cart as we speak...

good for you! on normal circumstances std shppg aka iparcel from US can reach under 2 weeks (my record was within 6 days, 2 years ago...). i only notice iparcel f*up their shipping during peak season like x'mas & black friday...
