anyone know where i can get a silent (less than 23 dBa) 80mm x 80mm x 15mm fan for my cm690?

does it actually make a difference if i place in behind the mobo tray and the side? would it be better suited as intake or exhaust?

my airflow setup is as follows:

INTAKE
2 x front 120mm
2 x bottom 120mm (one from psu)
1 x side 120mm

EXHAUST

2 x top 120mm
2 x back 120mm (one from psu)

look up ngbh, and visit one of his stores (or just post). They got lots of different sized fans the last time i went (few weeks back) in ss2 pj. I don't know if they'll be silent, but you can just use a lower voltage if it's too noisy. I'd put it as exhaust configuration, though I don't know if it'll help ( =
Do you really need that side fan? I assume that back portion will be so cluttered with the hidden cables anyway for any decent airflow. I think it'll just be extra nopise, and definitely extra dust if used as intake.

I have a few question want to ask about CM690

The side panel doesn't have any transparent shows at the original website. The USB port is on the top but most of you get was usb at the drive bay and side panel is transparent.

Why it's different from the original ?

Officially., the sidepanel is an optional addition for the CM690, but I guess most sellers bring in with side panel. There's two versions of the CM690, one with front ports and others with top ports. Might be a revision or regional version not entirely sure as I've heard different things. The top ports seem to be the newer one though.

Depends on how you look at it. I actually don't like both versions. the top version looks awkward, as the cluster of ports look out of place, and the front version doesnt match the mesh design rclxub.gif But since this appears to be the best casing for that budget, between the two i prefer the top ports, and I think that's the newer revision.

The floppy drive bay from the CM website

QUOTE
5.25" Drive Bay = 5 Exposed (without the use of exposed 3.5 inch Drive Bay), 4 Exposed (with the use of 3.5 inch Drive Bay)
3.5" Drive Bay = 5 Hidden, 1 Exposed (converted from one 5.25 inch Drive Bay)

So I assume the casing comes with a converter. I wouldn't install a floppy drive anyway. lol.

Taking night shots is really tough doh.gif

The UV effect is way off - Too light compared to the actual colour. And yes, i know. my rojak LEDs ruined the UV setup.

You need a really steady hand for night shots for the generally longer exposures.
