drove my car today to work, officially got to know this car a lot better. It is VERY high, like sitting an SUV or MPV, no chance of driving it like a low rider car like I always used to. I believe its higher than the old MyVi, confirmed by my friend. Adjusting to this new driving position, it slowly felt good, & comfortable. Gear stick being n the dashboard is a very unique and fun thing too!

At night, the LCD radio looks awesome flex.gif GPS was quite fun to use too, it went - "Thank you for driving safely" when you reach your destination rather than Garmin's "arriving at destination". I also notice it has already pre-set Perodua service outlets etc in the GPS which is quite cool. Destination searching is almost immediate, just type (could use auto-spelling) and viola!

Although, I can't corner confidently right now without anti-roll bar/modifications. The steering also felt weird, being electronically powered. And the rear-view mirror feels kinda insufficient for this car for some reason.

All in all, a much better car than I had expected, can't wait to drive it again tomorrow rclxms.gif

just received call from SC and ask regarding my battery. They mentioned that they just changed the battery during my 1st service and askif there's any problem on it.

I think its due to leakage problems which reported by few of perodua users.
*
Leakage..?? At the battery terminal ke Bro..?? I tout that is actually because they put oil there to reduce the oxidation at the terminals..??

for performance and also look nice.... rclxms.gif
*
Looks, bigger always better... But, performance wise, lighter n stronger rims is the best... But, bigger also means heavier, so need to find best compromise lar... But, me, i just go for 15" only... Because the 16 or 17" performance tires cost a bomb!, no money, me poorfag, so settle for 15" only... Lightweight rims for me

if i take 16", how much cost together with tyre? rclxms.gif
*
What kind of tires Bro..?? Mine 360-380 apiece for 15", but if 16" starting from 480+, and 17" from 550++ something like dat... So go figure... 15" to 16" tires alot difference in terms of price.. 16" is more closer to 17" price... But, if want eco tires, even 200++ can already get 17" tires... China / indo made tires... But, maybe grip not so good.. Tires squealing and screeching on corners at some decent speed... If squealing or screeching still ok, but if squealing and screeching because run out of grip, n then ul just understeer only..

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Feb 22 2012, 02:03 AM)
So I just got my car today - so far only had less than an hour to drive it around before sending for Sierra Glow tomorrow. It's now my turn to ask a few questions tongue.gif

1. I'm on a manual, and the gear stick vibrates a lot, even more than my old Kancil. If I was able to pull it out of the car it would serve really well as a ladies companion on a lonely night. Is there something wrong?

2. For the driver's window, since when it was normal for all cars to have automatic descend but not ascend?

3. The gear shifts feel like I'm letting loose many small tight springs from its locks. Sometimes I can't tell whether I'm engaged in gear or not. Will this improve after running in?

4. The clutch is too high - I killed the engine five times on the way home. Can the SC reduce its height?

That's all for now, but I'll definitely have more questions from the sifus soon smile.gif
*
1. This is weird Bro, because, supposely the gear stick will be xtra xtra stiff during the break-in period, so, in ur case, to me its quite weird..

2. All perodua cars are like that Bro.. Auto descend but not ascend..

3. On normal cases, where gear feels stiff during break in period, yesh, the gear stick will be getting easier to move around when settled the break in period...

4. This can easily be rectified by the SC technician,.. U can adjust the clutch height according to ur liking

Better than to see the car turn ugly over the next few years, and you still pay the same installment amount tongue.gif
*
It will last for how long Bro...?? If one year only, its better to just respray ur car because after recoating each year for 4 years, can paint a decent new layer of paintcoat already... Sorry bro, not being sarcastic or anythin, just giving my opinion here...

Based on my findings, SG coating will last for 5 years, and they give warranty for that. Might send for coating as well, when my fund enough to do so, or after changing new sets of rims.

wow...?? 5years!??? N thats very2 value for money

Somehow in the FB group, someone mentioned that 18mm ARB will give a stiffer cornering experience therefore sacrificing some comfort. If one doesn't go rough on cornering at high-speed is recommended to go with 16mm ARB instead of 18mm. Anyone care to elaborate more on this? unsure.gif
*
Yes bro, offcourse it will sacrifice a bit of comfort, but only during cornering, but to me, i personally prefer the flat cornering rather than sampan cornering.. To me when u corner flat ul be less likely to experience 'pening'.. But, maybe that is just me...

For ur info, only during cornering is the only time the ARB is at work, other than that, it do nothing really...
