i do agree with some of u guys. d wifi signal is indeed weak for sts as compared to my 3gs & csl mi357. keyboard is a bit lagging. i wish tat ics could bring some improvement. beside tis letdown, sts is a joy to use (without considering psn is yet to available locally) :-)

I think aircond control is very tricky. Each settings has different command. U may try to set each command individually, ie fan speed low, fan speed med and fan speed high. If ur aircond has lcd panel then trobleshooting might be easier. Mine doesnt hv.

Hey guys, did u ever run Quadrant benchmark for ur Tablet S? My benchmark reading for I/O score is terribly low. Is it only me or same with u all?

The I/O is for testing the read/write of the file systems. The new ICS update brings some improvement but it's far from ideal and I dun think any new Tablet S is rootable at the moment.

My experience is to turn it off while not using. We may hv to wait for booting but it conserves much power compared to standy mode.

No worries lah bro. Just use it now. Sony comes out with new tablet also it will not reach here that soon. just enjoy the tablet while you have it. You already bought it, and at a good price also. If new one, sure the price is more expensive than what you got the tablet 2 at.  biggrin.gif

By the way, anyone know what's the new update about? I also got the notification, but not yet download it. Quite oddly, my camera had been crashing on me, and this is before the update. So I think the camera crashing on uzary's tablet s may not have anything to do with the update at all. I will download the update now and perform the updating later tonight since I didn't bring my power adapter to the office. Hopefully it will solve my camera crashing issue pulak. tongue.gif

Before ICS update, I had frequent crashes on File Transfer and Reader. It was solved in ICS but with the current update (4.0.3r1a), there is no apparent improvement apart from smoother browsing in heavy website like dpr. Many other problem still persist.

Xperia Tablet looks very nice and promising with those new accessories. I wonder if the new carrying cover is compatible with Tablet S. Dunno why, somehow i feel abandoned blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif

Not goin to upgrade as Tablet S serves me quite well with the exception its inability to write to sdcard thru a 3rd party app which is extremely annoying. What's the point of crippling this function by limiting to Close , Delete and Open File only.

How about using a 3rd party camera app? Otherwise, u may hv to admit him into hospital... tongue.gif

For the Xperia Tablet, the new Small App extended its list with a voice recorder, timer, facebook, photo gallery, youtube n likely a scheduler. The multiuser mode is exciting too.

How about the good point of honeycomb that ICS doesnt have?
*
1. Ability to write to external sdcard using a 3rd party app
2. No flickering screen

however, overall ics experience seems to be better, notably "small apps"

write function is disabled with the current ics version. u got to use stock "file transfer" and yet it doesnt hv copy and paste function.

i dun encounter flickering in hc. maybe i dun use that much then or i hv forgotten tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif
anyway, flickering in ics is obviously there

let's hope the new xts software makes it way to our sts. very much excited to the expanded small apps.

btw, do u guys using popcorn player? kinda interesting smile.gif
