We do understand that you are experiencing several issues with your Sony Tablet S such as, flickering LCD screen, wireless connection gets disconnected after being on standby mode and you are unable to copy and paste files to your memory card using a file manager application.

About the issue with flickering LCD screen, we have simulated with couple of Sony Tablet S and confirmed that flickering LCD screen should not be encountered even with Android version 4.0.3 (release 1a). To isolate this issue, please try to reset your tablet back to factory default and see if you will encounter the same issue.
How to reset Sony Tablet S to Factory Default:
NOTE: We recommend that you backup all of your files and applications before performing "Factory Data Reset", as this process will delete all settings, applications and data saved on the tablet.
1. On your home screen tap on "Apps and Widgets" or basically go to your application list. 2. Search and click the "Settings" icon. 3. Tap "Backup & Reset" and click "Factory Data Reset". 4. Tap "Reset Tablet". 5. Tap "Erase Everything" and click OK.
If the solution above does not fix the flickering issue of the LCD screen, then it is our best recommendation that you visit one of our Service Centre for check-up and repair service.
Please follow the instructions below on how to set "Wi-Fi Disconnect Policy" to "NEVER", this should fix your issue, where the tablet gets disconnected from the wireless network when in standby mode.
1. On your home screen tap on "Apps and Widgets" or basically go to your application list. 2. Search and click the "Settings" icon. 3. Tap Wi-Fi 4. On the right-hand corner tap the three dots arranged vertically. 5. Select "Advanced". 6. Tap Wi-Fi Disconnect Policy 7. Tap "Never" (Uses more battery power).
And lastly, with regard to the issue you reported with saving files to the memory card from your Tablet, we had confirmed that this is an Android Operating System limitation with version 4.0.3. This issue was already been raised by our technical engineers and we will inform you as soon as the solution becomes available.
Android Jelly Bean update is still being discussed from the time being and we cannot guarantee you yet if this particular update will be available for your tablet.
