BTW bro @ninja,

just a suggestion if we could have a place to post Playstation certified updated gamelists for US, JP, UK, MY/SG SEN...
*
Okay, will do the list when I'm free later. nod.gif

QUOTE(chiahau @ Feb 16 2012, 12:13 PM)
I was promised 24th of February by Sony, let's hope they can keep their promises, unlike Asus =,=
Can this tablet play PSP games? Since you are the PS3 guru anyways, can't find another better person to answer this Q.
And finally, the keyboard can purchase on the spot? I think i might need the dock n keyboard if I were to buy this tablet asap.
*
Yeah, can play PSP games. At the moment, only Japan PlayStation Store got a few PSP games available. More coming soon I guess. It's still at early stage. So far most of the games are from PSOne era.

QUOTE(kerorokatak @ Feb 16 2012, 03:32 PM)
Ninja, mayb can add this "Advanced Wifi Lock" apps at the front page for the WiFi Disconnects problem...
Advanced Wifi Lock
*
You still having Wifi disconnection issue~? I think latest firmware update. 3.2.1 (release 2) already fixed the issue.

QUOTE(shunjun8683 @ Feb 16 2012, 04:50 PM)
guys where can i get this tablet around this time?
*
Pre-order already started at local Sony Style store; KLCC/The Curve/Times Square.

QUOTE(christcwl9 @ Feb 16 2012, 04:55 PM)
Can some1 comment about the Battery life compared to Ipad 2 and Asus TF201 Prime ?
*
Can't really comment coz this is my first tablet. sweat.gif But I can get max around 6-7 hours battery life for frequent browsing ang gaming.

Yeah, under Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi disconnection policy. I'm using 'Never when plugged in'.

If you use 3rd party media player, you can open media items inside SD card. No need to transfer at all.

Test unit that I saw at Sony Style KLCC was installed with screen protector. Dunno whether it's the same as the one they're selling. But the surface is slightly matte and quite smooth when touching it.

Anyway, currently attempting to root my Sony Tablet. Wish me luck. icon_rolleyes.gif

Just an update; I've successfully rooted my STS last nite. smile.gif And managed to mount external SD card into internal storage. Now SD card can be accessed natively.

Time to get 32GB SD card for my STS. tongue.gif

This is STS default video player detecting all my movie files inside my SD card:

Using File Manager also can browse into SD card since I mounted a folder inside my SD card to internal storage Video folder.

mean must be root to mount SD card into internet storage?
im not really hope to root my android device d....
*
Yeah, mount procedure requires root since modification done at OS level.

A few things to consider before rooting your STS:

1. Warranty void but there's an option to unroot and return to original state.
2. ICS 4.0 update is coming to STS soon so most probably root exploit will no longer exist until somebody find another exploit on ICS 4.0
3. Possibility of bricking your STS if messing up with system files after obtaining root. A few cases of boot-loop after somebody trying to change the fonts in their STS.

Currently, I've moved all my videos, photos and MP3 files from internal storage to my 16GB SD card and mounted the folders (Music, Video, Pictures) to internal storage.

We can actually automated the mount process each time STS rebooted so we don't have to run the mount command everytime we power on the device. But there's a problem with timing since each STS will have different time duration to boot up since there's widget to be load up, launcher, etc.

I'm still finding my timing for the automated script. For the time being, I just run the command manually; as long as I don't reboot, the mounting remains.

Yes, you can still read and play using 3rd party apps such as DicePlayer, MoboPlayer app.

For reference, internal storage is under 'sdcard' directory, and SD card is under 'sdcard2' directory.

So, if you wanna browse to your SD card, just look for 'sdcard2' directory, and all your files will be there. You can open directly, no need to transfer to internal storage.

i just tried it, when i insert my SD card into sts, it will ask me whether want to transfer the files or not. i try to find the files from ES explorer, it is not there. i will dl the player later. is it can use to play real files too?

i just found that, actually my sts already sticked with very normal screen protector, maybe it is true, all sts come with screen protector?

Added on February 26, 2012, 8:48 pm

but i just found that my sts already stick with screen protector, or it is not the sp, just the layer of the screen?

You can install this app 'File Manager HD':

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm.hd

noob question, the remote function in STS. Do it proprietary to STS only?
*
If I'm not mistaken, Samsung Tab Plus also got remote function.

For STS, it's definitely tailored for STS hardware.

*In the pipeline, thinking of getting a Rapoo wireless controller (Non Bluetooth) or a Logitech controller depending on the game that I have. I have GTA 3 (Free), read somewhere that it's compatible with external controller but have yet to try.
*
Yeah, GTA3 is compatible with controller. I use my PS3 DualShock 3 to play, works flawlessly.

Screen capture requires root~ sweat.gif But there's another way to capture screenshot without root, but requires PC connection - using Android SDK DDMS.

You can refer to the following tutorial to install the Android SDK and ADB access:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-info.pl?info_id=878

Found one screenshot app that does not require root at Market, but it's paid version. Dunno whether it works or not on our STS:

If not mistaken its not screen protector.... it sort of like in ARC & ARC S... you have to go to service center if you want it to be replaced... Sony Center got sell the screen protector... but its expensive... I bought it as do not want my screen scratch and do not want to get 3rd party SP.
*
Yeah, it's the same one installed on our Xperia Arc - shatter proof screen protector. To protect your screen from breaking into pieces just incase we drop it.
