Hi, any good tips to share for this beginner?

What I have realised is, dont always follow what they say on the net. Try it out yourself and then adjust. Eg throne height (1/3 of my height results in leg and back pain, the beater on the kick drum an inch or so above the center gives me a better tone, 5A Promark sticks are bagus, etc).

I am curious to know, do you as a drummer count the 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & when you play? Or you have mastered it so well that you can time it without counting?

To me, counting takes the enjoyment out of drumming and enjoying the music. Or is it just me?

Mind clarifying what is meant by 3 4 at the beginning? Count 3 4 and off you go?
