Hi all,
I just replace a florescent tube light together with the casing.
But i notice the when the light is on... the light will have abit "flicker"... only slightly flicker...
i dunno what term to call it... it is like not enough current going through...
kinda annoying...
anyone know what's the cause? is it due to wiring problem? or the new case and light no good?

I don't think this is the reason why people changing to LED.

Fluorescent light still have its benefit and place holder, it won't be gone for another 10 to 20 years.

Generally, could be a problem in either of the following.

a. faulty tube
b. IF you're using electronic ballast, could be a problem with that.

Hope that helps.

To switch it on, no problem... just like normal.
But when it is on, I will notice is "flicker" slightly, not continuously but maybe every 1min?
Will feel the light "shake".

Maybe will try to adjust the light again...

Both the light and the case holder are new...
Electronic ballast? if like that how to check? hahaha
Maybe change to a better quality one?

Put the tube to another case. See the tube got problem or not. If ok, than the ballast or the starter. Probably the ballast.

Since its new installation, open up the casing and check for loose connection. Else troubleshoot as follow.

1) the tube flicker as in going bright and dimmed?
2) the tube flicker as in going on and off?
3) Happen the whole day or certain time of the day?
4) Flicker stop after the light is on for sometime?

1+2 - tube exhausted (change tube and starter)
3 - Voltage problem (check with voltmeter to confirm, then report to TNB)
4 - tube / voltage problem

If you have a case holder, chances are your light is running on a starter. One way to tell is if the light flickers before turning on.
For lights using electronic ballast, the light turns on immediately without flickering.

Follow what ozak recommended, try putting that particular tube onto another case and see if the same issue is experienced. If it is, just go to your nearest electrical shop and get a replacement bulb. You may want to bring your original bulb along so that the shop can get you the same light colour bulb.
