Hi all,

I need some advice in buying a console for myself (as a Xmas present to myself, perhaps).... smile.gif

I'm more into RPG, FPS and simulation kind of game like Assassin Creed, BattleField, or The Sims. I do like light versus game genre... like KOF and those...

In the market, there are Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. It's pretty much hard for me to make decision as when I digged into news about those console, I found some news that hinder me from making my purchases. For example, speculation about Xbox 720 (?) which going to hit the market in a year or two? Those console had hit the market for a long time and I'm worried once I made my purchases, new console released and gaming industry moved into new console game development rather than producing more title for the current existing one. Just like I bought my HTC Sensation and 2 months later come out with HTC Sensation XE with BeatStudio which cost the same price with the one I bought sweat.gif I'm not sure about Sony gonna release new PlayStation in anytime or not.... hmmm hmm.gif
I wouldn't mind if for example, Xbox360 able to play Xbox 720 game, if there's such cases.... tongue.gif

My intention for console is specific to gaming purposes, and will not be used for watching movies anyway.

Just some curious question, is XBox Live or PS Network required and compulsory in order to play the game? I wouldn't mind if it is not required. hmm.gif

I used to own a PS2, but has given to my ex-gf as she got plenty of games that she would wish to play.

So, I hope that all the game gurus here would shared some light about the idea/suggestion on which to buy and hope that you can also give some explanation why is better to purchase that. I'm sincerely hoping that someone can give some constructive ideas smile.gif

you've missed many many years of games of current consoles. even if new ones get released, chances are you're not gonna be buying it from day one. many great games have been released, nobody's stopping you from getting them dirt cheap and play it now, even after many many years of release.

Easy simplification:

Buy Wii if ur intending on local multiplayer gaming (smash bros., super mario etc.)
Buy PS3/x360 if u like more singleplayer stuff.

i had an x360 once, sold it because most x360 games is already available on PC, and playing solo games is better on PC since you don't have to share your TV with others. Bought a wii and am having fun playing it for get togethers n such.

Xbox Live, u'll have to pay to get to play online multiplayer if im not mistaken. PSN is free unless u go for premium stuff (not sure what). Between x360 n ps3, up to ur control preference. I prefer x360 since controller is big enough n firm.

Haha.... I'm a guy that always out-dated anyway... What I'm worried is the game is hard to find, since those had released a while back...

I seen Modded and Unmodded set... How will a modded set affect the warranty? How much will be the price different? Is it recommended to get Modded set?

I see.. Thanks for your opinions smile.gif How about warranty wise? Xbox only available in Sg Set and it's kinda troublesome if there's something wrong with it. I over-read Wii only have 3 months warranty(?) from another thread around here... PS3 I don't see the problem of getting warranty since Sony Centre is around Klang Valley everywhere.

Is most game available in Xbox 360 also exist in PS3?
