ahquan26: Filter comes in different sizes to fit different sizes lenses lor... hahahaha... If you lens' filter ring has a diameter of 55mm then you need a 55mm filter to fit it.

ALL filters will degrade the photo quality. Questions is how much will it degrade the photo quality. More expensive filters will affect the photo less.

Different kinds of filter have different usage/purposes:

1. UV filter (most commonly used) serves to protect the lens
2. CPL filter is to rid light coming from certain direction
3. ND filter is to cut down the light transmission
*
Why do you say that all filters will degrade the pic quality?

Hmm. What you and William said is true. Didn't think about that.

Anyways, know the e-a mount adapter? The first generation one. There's no glass in between right? So why doesn't it work as an extension tube?

DCIM? Was there after work today. Pure bullshit. Crap! I didn't even see a Sony booth there. Nothing to see one. Don't waste time. Go for J-card sale opposite DCIM better.

Went in, he ask a model to pose for a picture, then he kept on stepping back till he's like 10m away, and guess what? He couldnt take of her because people kept walking pass! doh.gif and I bet that shot is just a shot of her face. shakehead.gif

QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 28 2011, 10:58 AM)
zstan: I'm liking the vibrant color. Though the tilt in #1 is a bit off and you could probably zoom in to get just one 'box' of background in #1, since the tiles are wet and unsightly. That would also reduce barrel distortion.

In #3 why not a tele, and from directly in front?

michael9413: Maybe you can get a shot of #7 from directly in front, with the baskets on both sides of her and the handle to frame her.

azamunekurone: Wah didn't know you shoot JPG! Good zoom, like 600mm on full frame!

NutZ748: Whoa weird - didn't know Sony Alphas would have banding in high ISO. I hope you have a RAW version of this as different RAW converters will make noise look different!

fansoption: I wonder what it would look like from the left - in front of the grasshopper's face.

shootkk: Seems a bit tight?

Zhao: Nice! You might want to do a tighter crop, crop away all the clues that it is a real park. For example Staircase on the right can crop. #3 is more like it.

Mikeshashimi: Looks like you'd want to do a classic multiple exposure HDR - one more to expose for the shadows, reducing noise.

Newbieeeeee: #1 a bit unharmonious in crop. Nice #2 though #3 is a weird passer-by shot. Would be nice to read the back in #4. Color would help identify #5 and #7.

What's going on in #8? #9 could be shot from directly in front, at a 45 degree angle so you just see 2 colored shapes. #10 clone stamp it lah.

chiahau: So are you married, semi married or going to get married?

ieR: Although the cushion isn't the best looking, because of the wide angle, I feel like I am standing on front of her and I can feel the cushion.

Also a wider shot on #2 could show the man behind approaching suspiciously.

Thanks!

Sigma 30 1.4 HSM
Sony 50 1.4
Samyang 85 1.4 (MF)

if you're to choose one of them...which one will you choose?
give me some comments  notworthy.gif

CZ 85/1.4

Nah, just kidding. Most likely the 85mm. I don't need a 50/1.4 cause I don't mind having a 50/1.8 instead, same goes to sigma 30/1.4 when I can get a Sony 35/1.8.

hey guys, i have a questions regarding the built in flash
does anyone know where i can read about on how to use the built-in flash without creating the undesired effect of the whole photo being flatten? I know using flash with aperture priority mode is not gonna help, manual is definitely required but what is the recommended settings? thanks

example of what i;m saying:

Note that in the 3rd pic the background is the darkest. You can't do it with a pop up. You need to use manual & HSS mode. the light wouldn't be powerful enough to light up the background. You've gotta experiment though. Maybe 1/250 or 1/320 etc.

u are half right, half wrong. u understand the formula/theory but used it wrongly.

the pop up can last depending on iso, up to F16 for distant of 1 meter. so if i were to shoot 1/160 F16 iso800, i can get picture like the shown image, why need HSS?
*
Hmm, theorically it sounds logic. But practically? I'm not really sure. Meaning small aperture + higher ISO + 1/160 also can get same results as HSS? unsure.gif

sony body will create new folder after 9999 IINM and start the numbering..
or maybe u insert other cards which result to reset the numbering..

i not bother the number.. so never take that seriously..
*
It has five figures, so it will only reset after 99,999. Well I have a memory stick and an SD card in it. My SD card folder number is 9,xxx but my ms is 154. They mixed up those two. doh.gif Now that the numbering is all messed up, my recent shots wont be at the bottom on the folder anymore. It'll be everywhere. doh.gif

p/s: I dont know what I did, but the number increased to 8,xxx. How to make it go back to 9,xxx? Spam 1000 times shutter? tongue.gif

*
Eh, why you got so expensive lens but don't use ahh? Go use a cheap 50mm pulak. If I got 1635z, I'll be using that everyday. tongue.gif
