hi, i have a sony a290 with YN-560 speedlite. im trying to do the SINGLE FLASH PORTRAIT. unfortunately, i didnt get the best result. so my question here is, do you (forum-ers) have any tips to get the best result for the SINGLE FLASH PORTRAIT just like this?



i've tried using the tips that goldfries gave me.

a77 so exp. no money lar. samore no stock oso with kit set. lol. and i think, i buy car is faster than someone else buying a dslr.

I am using A200, planning to upgrade my body.
I budget a bit tie... Any recommendation ?

Just a quick and stupid question:

If you have 900 bucks, would you spend it on a flash unit (used f58 or new f43) OR spend it on a samyang 8mm fisheye (used)?

Well, for me I would say that I take out a few pictures and show, no one will be able to tell for sure which pic came from which brand of cam...

But what I know is that I know of one Canon 5D mkII user that spent RM 1.7k to buy Pocket Wizard transmitter/receiver to get off camera flash ability, without taking into consideration the cost to buy the actual flash unit. For Rm 1.7k, Sony A77 users can buy one F58 plus one F42 flashes and get a 2 light wireless flash ability right out of the box! If that's not cost effective then I don't know what is.

my manager kutuk says when he look in C, N, S and P camera he see everything so blurry and colour faded.......... he uses Leica

edit: btw, if use sony flash with umbrella, got any umbrella holder that supports sony mount meh?? cannot find..

Any Macro Lenses to recommend for my Sony Aplha A65? Mostly for portraiture and flower macrophotography.

Did you guys ever had problem like.. When you turn on camera... aim and try to focus (press half shutter)
but the camera suddenly like turn off itself(like 2-3 second). Then turn on back and can use normally.

oh another thing.. my body cannot detect my 35mm.... when put the lens... the body AF motor seems like cannot plug into the lens (just wild guess)
and make sound like zitt.. zit... zit... zit.. .. (no issue with other lens)

 

Newbieeeeee: where macro picture.

guys, can someone explain the wireless flash system that is found in a580?
I've been reading and it has been stated that the pop-up flash is required to trigger the off-camera flash such as the f43/58 etc. My question is, isn't this the same as the usual optical trigger found in other flash for other system? Or does the pop-up flash emit some kind of signal that will trigger f43/58 wirelessly in WL flash mode?

If that's the case, does the lights from the pop-up flash (in WL mode) gets captured while trying to trigger the f43/58 wirelessly?

wondering what lens is needed for a crop sensor body to produce the same view and DOF of a 85 f1.4 on a FF??

Hi sifus I have a55 with kits and 50mm 1.8. Basically I will be going For dinner tonight, wanna shoot some amoi. I think I will use 50mm since it has larger aperture for low light condition. What setting should I use? The lighting would be a bit of yellowish and dim. How to set WB? ISO 800 a55 can tahan? Aperture 1.8 for individual, 4-5 for two people? Thanks in advance

problem is no flashgun >.< NVM can shoot from far distance
3200/6400??? usable? anyway with f1.8 the shutter speed should be quite fast with iso 800 XD

Guys, need ur advice. i am currently using a55..and thinking to get nex 7 or a77.. but kinda stuck which one will be my better choice..if getting nex7, from a55 to nex7 is counted as upgrade in term of photo quality? but the price is so much nearer to a77 which make me think twice again.. hope to hear your opinion..

wanna ask, how u all normally focus for fireworks shots? i did it by using MF then turn the focusing ring of my mini beercan to infinity but it seems the result still blur.. for example.
