Ah hao: I haven't personally tried my Minolta 70-210mm F4.0 beercan with the LA-EA1 and my NEX-5, though I lent it to smashpop, who had a hard time tracking performers on stage. But then again, as far as I know, he doesn't use manual focus much...

The beercan's focus ring can be a bit small and turns too smoothly. However this can be compensated by partially gripping the non-moving part of the lens when focusing, to add friction.

The main problem is, can your beercan put x2 teleconverter or not 1st?
No idea, dislike all 3rd party flash for sony.

F43am available cheap2, rather save up another month and go f43 straight.
